Lester fell to his knees, his chin touched his chest. His eyes were closed, and fists tightened on his thighs until his knuckles turned white. He didn't feel so worse when he spoke with that brave yet unfortunate mother at the cemetery.
Because she didn't point out his weaknesses, his flaws. She only helped him to look at his powers, and realise his capability.
But his father was not like her. He was not like Zoe either. He had the authority to show Lester the mirror, the ugly face of reality. He was an Alpha for more than six decades. He had fought numerous battles, had gone through many heartbreaks and had swallowed his pride as well as his pain for the sake of his people.
But Lester failed him by not following in his footsteps.
Lester wished there was any way to let out all of his anger, his pain and his frustration. He wished that the ground tear him apart and swallow him whole.
