CONFRONTATION- 2
As Ruth and Edwin sat on the wet floor in the bathroom beside each other, the sobs filled the confined space. And for once, they did not belong to Ruth but Edwin.
She sat quietly, letting him vent out his bottled up emotions because she also needed some time to gather her thoughts. Only last morning, he had kissed her on the forehead and bidden her goodbye with a promise of meeting soon.
And now here they were close to each other yet far apart, trying to sort out their feelings and thoughts.
She was broken out of her train of thoughts when Edwin abruptly stood up and began striding towards the door.
"Edwin! Edwin stop!"
He did not.
"I said stop damn it!" Ruth raised her voice, and he finally listened.
She tried to stand up, but her knees were too weak to allow her.
So she waited. She waited for him to say something, do something or even lash out at her or put her again through that pain and uncomfort as before. She could see how tense his body was, and so was he.
