A Mark Left Behind

Thank you for reading. I hope you like this series. If not, then that's your choice. I can't unreasonably tell you to like it, so to those of you who do indeed don't like this book, then I hope you find something great to read.

I won't say much for the first volume as it may not be some people's cup of tea as it talks about enslavement, racial issues and the like.

I cannot guarantee the quality of writing from the character's personality as I am not the author of the series that will be portrayed in this series thus there may be some distinction on how the characters are portrayed.

For the actual story however, there are many changes but the main themes of this story are not one of a 'good end' I suppose. Most of the 'worlds' the main character will travel through are merely lives he has lived. So don't expect a good end for any of them.

Also, for the first world, it is almost entirely of new plots that have almost no correlation with the source material of 'Sherlock Holmes' as I have not read the series and the various other popular classical literature incorporated within the Korean Novel. Not just the Sherlock Holmes series and source material, even considering the Korean Novel almost all plots have nothing to do with the actual novel itself except for the characters and setting.

There are various reasons as to why I didn't choose popular worlds such as Marvel, DC, and the like. It is simply too saturated and I wanted to be different(?). Well… there are other reasons as to why but I suppose you readers will understand as you read if you wish to.

Going a little into my mindset.

I always found the settings of the various literature fascinating rather than characters themselves. Of course without the characters the story would be simply a half of a whole as they are what makes the world 'breath' so to speak. But in the end, characters are just envoys to explore the world and tell their stories. I am not saying that characters are unimportant but just as both hold a place within my heart, I find the settings and the well written world themselves most of the time slightly more interesting.

I also hate messing with the original story.

Is that contradictory I wonder?

I feel as if I mess with the story, the story itself is somewhat tarnished if I cannot do the original story justice. It is strange even in my own opinion. But with how much I add and change in the first volume, I am already a hypocrite in this aspect. But aren't all people hypocrites in some way? Well, let us move onto the next list on the agenda.

This is not a 'pure' fanfiction. Meaning, there are original worlds in a mix with fantasy literature. The ratio is around half which maybe a lot considering that it is half of the story but that is because there are no stories that specifically fit the themes and settings of what I want.

My hopes and dreams of this work is to fully encapsulate the themes and story I want to tell. This is not a story of a good ending. It is simply the journey of a man who wanders alone through the countless worlds he goes through and the emotions he feels.

So I am sorry for those who expected another power trip story, this is not one.

Since you all read this far, the first arc will be a Korean Novel named: Becoming Professor Moriarty's Probability.
