Chapter 12: The Aftermath
I wanted to comfort him, say that Max would never be a threat, he would be out of my life for good. But at the same time, I was mad at him.
Did we have to do this now? He had to give Enzo and Elena a ride according to the original plan but now, they had to stay in our apartment. But maybe it would turn out to be a good thing, they would calm Di down.
I was divided into two. But the more I saw him clenching his jaw, the veins on his arm, and fiery black eyes, the more I got nervous and angry at him.
Didn't he know that I loved him? I never thought I would confess it to myself or him, but I wanted to make peace with it. I loved him. And now, he was afraid of Max's influence. Didn't he know any better?
He was driving fast. I barely saw the closed shops on the street. The lights were melting in front of my eyes.
