[3rd POV]

"Ohayo~ Komi-san." Marin greeted the dolly girl who just seemed to stare in return.

Marin made herself comfortable by bringing another chair and sitting opposite to Komi. She lazily leaned in on the table as she hummed sweetly to herself.

"Lovely morning we have today right? And with only few students in the school it is so peaceful." Marin said or it would be more correct to say talked to herself.

It was early in the morning, Marin had come early to school just because, while Komi was usually early to avoid unnecessary interaction with homo sapiens.

"And the autumn air is just soo refreshing, I am glad that the hot summer is ending you know." Marin uncaringly talked while Komi would just stare and nod occasionally. 

Marin had gotten used to it at this point and did not feel awkward talking for the both of them. She knew Komi enjoyed it even though she may not even get a word in.

"Though I hate that the second term exam is coming soon." Marin said, "But Komi must be excited huh? You always get good grades."

Komi nodded at the first part and hurriedly shook her head at the second part. Marin raised an eyebrow of acknowledge.

"No? Also nervous for the exam?" 

Komi gave a cute nod.

"Haaa~ If even you are nervous, then maybe I am more fucked than I thought." Marin sighed and her shoulder slumped.

Komi perked up and rapidly waved her hands. She felt bad she made Marin more scared about the exam. 'No no no, I am always nervous. You don't have to worry' she wanted to say.

"I wish I had a brain like Yuito's. I have never even seen him study, all he does is train, train, train yet he always get good marks." Marin whined.

Komi just listened and couldn't help but agree with Marin's statement.

"Although~" Marin said and a smile teased her lips, "That means my children will inherit his good brain if I got pregnant with his."

"Hmmm.." She licked her lips. "That's actually kind of hot." Marin said when she thought about her children having great genes. Every woman wants the best for her children right? Even if that means providing the best genetics.

Marin eyed Komi and even without any special skill, she could tell that Komi was blushing hard.

Marin's eyes narrowed at that. Maybe her suspicion was true after all. Maybe Komi was really the other girl that Yuito liked. She couldn't think of any other girl otherwise.

So in hopes of digging out the truth, Marin began guiding the conversation towards Yuito. It was quite easy since Komi literally did not say anything back.

Marin observed and gauged every reaction coming from Komi as best as she could during the whole conversation.

But it was hard. Damn near impossible to get anything from Komi. Marin was more and more confused as time went on.

She really tried to play detective and learn something from the small clues but Marin reckoned she had better luck understanding a rock than Komi.

In the end, Marin was not skilled nor patient enough.

She cast away the subtlety and decided to be direct. The conversation about Yuito came to an abrupt hold.

"Okay, this is annoying. Do you like Yuito or not?" She asked out of the blue, confronting the poor girl who literally had a heart attack when she heard the question.

Komi might not show it but she was already feeling guilty, confronted like this, her brain just short circuited.

"Hello~" Marin waved her hand impatiently infront Komi's face. "Can you answer the question? It's rude to ignore people."

"Promise I won't get mad at your answer." Marin said and did a childish pinky promise with Komi.

In front of such peer pressure from her only friend, Komi could not stop trembling. She was but a vibrating mess for quite some time before she decided to lie to Marin.

Komi wouldn't be able to take it if her friendship with Marin was broken just because of some unrequited love of her's.

So Komi quickly took out her notebook and scribbled some words. It was easier to lie with written words than speaking.

Then she showed her notebook, (What do you mean? Yuito is your boyfriend. And no I don't like him like that.)

Although Komi said that, Marin did not believe her. Saying that it was not possible for her to not like Yuito and she even began naming countless good points of him that Komi wholeheartedly agreed with.

After that Marin then asked her to give one reason why she did not like Yuito. Komi couldn't give any.

Komi tired. She really tried to hide it but Marin also had this persistent energy that knocked again and again. Komi couldn't help but be honest with her as they continued talking.

So in the end, she just settled to lying with truth mixed into it.

(Yes. I liked him at the beginning but not any more.) That was her final answer. Komi was determined not to change that anymore, even though it was not the whole truth.

She still liked Yuito very much.

"Oh, so there really is nothing going on with you guys?" Marin finally asked at the end which left Komi confused. 'Why would there be something between us.'

Marin finally accepted that there really was nothing between them. Since she could not read Komi at all, Marin just nudged her endlessly in hopes of getting a different answer but with everything she got so far, she now knew Komi was not the other girl Yuito liked.

From what Marin can see, Komi liked Yuito but he did not feel the same. She actually felt bad for Komi if that was really the case.

"How disappointing. I wouldn't have mind it if it was you." Marin whispered to which Komi tilted her head in confusion.

Truly if Marin could pick the other girl Yuito liked than it would be Komi. Now she had to worry about an unknown bitch who had a territory in Yuito's heart, probably a bigger territory than even her's.

'Danmit.'

"Why is he always late anyways?" Marin asked aloud when she turned to look at the clock. Now she needed to return to her class now.

She was hoping to see him in the morning.

She got up from her seat and gave a final pat on Komi's shoulder.

"Anyways, good luck!~" She said to Komi with a smile. Only she knew what she meant by that.

Komi was yet again confused. She really wished Yuito was here to explain it to her.

Author : Remember I mention that I was texting a girl few chapters ago? Well I confess and got rejected.

This is personal but I am telling you this because writing is art. And the way I feel might affect the story. So don't be surprised if one of the girls leave Yuito and rejects him or if there is another NTR.
