"How long are we talking about?" Jace asked coldly
"All … afternoon, Sir," Grace admitted, her head bowed.
"What?! How come no one deemed it fit to inform me? Do you know what that would have done to him? Can you afford the consequences of him having yet another meltdown?"
Grace waited in apprehension for the explosion that was bound to erupt but surprisingly she heard nothing close to what she had imagined. Rather, the room was filled with silence save for the faint sound of the air conditioner, so she willed herself to look up.
She was stunned when she found that he was staring at her with a surprisingly calm expression, devoid of any sign of anger or displeasure.
"You didn't say anything?" Grace asked in disbelief.
"What were you expecting from me? To blow up and tear the whole house down?" Jace asked, a wry smile dancing around his mouth.
