The Shrine of Mystery

A few months later, The threads died down. Seth was taken out of Rehab by his mother. As soon as Seth was completely healed, she would make him return to his house in the suburbs. Seth had Light grey hair and was quite built. But he had never sustained injuries like these. He worked in a secret research facility. It was off the map for all he knew. It took him almost 2 hours to drive there. It was the place.....he almost died in...

Seth's POV:

It has been a while...I can't shake the feeling that Kobia didn't mean it. But...She's an animal after all. It's in their blood, their instincts. I said that out loud as my mother came in. "Darling, Don't stay near the light too long, Your eye is healing. I don't want you to completely lose your visio-" "IT'S ALREADY GONE, MOTHER!" I screeched. I guess It was loud enough to make our neighbor's dog bark. "Mother-" She clinged onto me like a bear about to wrestle its prey to the ground. "Seth. I love you. I'm just worried. You never told me about your job! But I can't blame you, I would have never let you take it if I knew this would happen." "I'm sorry, mother. Can I just please have some coffee?" "I'll go make some." She left the room. As soon as I heard her last footsteps downstairs, I peeked back out the window. A girl my age was walking peacefully down the street. She reminded me of Kobia. She was peaceful before she snapped. I read my favorite childhood books to her. She would then read books to me, and cuddle herself beside me comfortably. But after that, the men who saw me and her reading pulled me aside and let me off for the day. I don't know what they did, but I saw them taking Kobia to another room. I swear I heard another cat in that room. The next day, Kobia wouldn't talk to me. So I took a picture of her. She snapped. I fainted after I took the last picture. But I didn't remember crawling to the side of the road. I know Kobia knew I was hurt, so she probably carried me away. But how did she escape the facility?

After drinking all of his coffee, He went out to the public shrine since not many people go there after 7:00 p.m. It was a shrine of healing. People come there to offer and pray for healing. Seth's religion was of many gods in different sections. There were healing demigods. Seth just prayed for whatever god that had decided to occupy the shrine to heal him and find Kobia. After Seth was about 10ft away from the shrine, someone behind him spoke, "My, my, my! What a handsome man. How did you acquire such scars?" Scars? Seth thought that he just had wounds. There was no way they had scarred yet. Seth checked his wounds. "How did tha-" "Shhhh" The demigod said. She had aqua-colored hair and dark blue eyes. She had a long Salamander-like tail with horns and swirly wisps as wings, but the wisps looked too small to carry her anywhere. She had a bright golden kimono with splashes of blue eveywhere. The demigod had golden jewellery. "Millia," she spoke. Seth was stunned. His wounds had almost disappeared, his vision in his right eye had almost completely healed, and his body didn't ache as much. Seth looked at his back that no longer had any tense muscles. But as Seth turned, Millia wasn't there.
