Aries was relieved the moment he and Gust stepped out of the wind vortex and saw the double-decks lined on one corner of their sanctuary. Gale was resting there and looking a lot better. However, upon seeing Aries bleeding profusely, his paleness returned.
Aries was gripping his wounded shoulder as tightly as he could, hoping that the bleeding would somehow lessen. But it was not helping at all. Even the pain was not going away. It was only intensifying.
His shoulder felt like it was burning and the scorching sensation spread agonizingly all over his body. He wanted to dive into the river just to ease the searing pain but he could no longer feel his legs.
Gust carefully laid him down on the bed.
"Water…" he struggled to whisper. His throat felt so dry.
Gale rushed to the table while Pieffer put her hands over his bleeding wound. Her healing power always felt warm and comforting but at that moment, it was only amplifying the scorching pain.
