"They are really low level. They've been hunting this stone for two minutes," Dmitry said, crouching among the five half-wolves.
"Well, they'll like this," Dmitry muttered, crushing the stone with enough force to turn it into dust. He tossed the dust into the air, partially blinding the half-wolves, while Dmitry closed his eyes and relied solely on the sounds they made—scratching and howling as their eyes filled with stone dust.
"What nice weapons. I think I'll take them," Dmitry said, grabbing the blade of a simple sword. As he pulled it forward, the blade broke and lodged itself in the body of the wolf holding it, draining its life as it failed to see what had happened.
"Oops, seems like it was weaker than I thought," Dmitry remarked, dodging the clumsy attacks of the half-wolves. They halted, thrusting their swords into his right thigh, roaring and dispersing the dust, their eyes tearing up in pain. After a few seconds, their blurred vision cleared.
"I should've known—they're half-wolves, not goblins," Dmitry said, running towards them. He dodged a frontal strike from one of the wolves, grabbed its arm, pulled it down, and thrust the sword into its own belly. He kicked its leg, grabbed its head, and slammed it into the ground, breaking the sword inside the wolf's body, preventing a counterattack.
"Not that being smart will help them," Dmitry said, placing his hand on the ground and leaping up, evading the attack of the remaining three half-wolves. Taking advantage of the situation, he landed with his feet on the heads of two of them, performing a flip and slamming their heads into the ground, crushing their black eyes tinged with red.
"Now, the last one," Dmitry said, standing up and stopping a sideways attack, a boomerang made from polished boar bone, sharp like a normal sword blade. He caught it between his middle and index fingers, tossing it up. Seated, he beckoned the half-wolf with his hand, seeing the act of disrespect.
"You'll pay for this!" one of the half-wolves screamed.
"Oh, look at that, you learned to talk. That's an incredible feat," Dmitry replied. The half-wolf, in a hurry with claws and a red stripe like blood running down its body, appeared in front of Dmitry. As it was about to attack, Dmitry heard the boomerang's return, stepped back, and watched it hit the ground, shattering into pieces. Dmitry smiled and said,
"Fool, that trick wouldn't work. Even the shards didn't do anything," the half-wolf boasted.
"And who said it was my plan?" Dmitry said, now behind the half-wolf, holding his sword with the tip touching the back of its head.
"It was supposed to be a punch, but this is better," Dmitry said, slicing through the half-wolf's head, pulling out the blade, and looking at the unbroken sword. He watched the wolf's body fall to the ground, the game window notifying him of the experience gained.
[COMMON GRAY WOLF = 2,800 XP - 4 killed]
[COMMON WOLF TO GRAY WOLF EVOLUTION - PRESENT = 1,500 XP - 1 killed]
[Experience needed for level 30 = 52,900]
"This will take longer than I thought. I'd better go after the bigger creatures," Dmitry said, grabbing the sheath from the half-wolf's body.
"Well, goodbye. I'll make good use of this sword," Dmitry said, starting to walk back to the forest.
After a few minutes of walking around, Dmitry began thinking about random things until he remembered the strange girl he saw yesterday. "She said she was the Queen of the Snow Crown? Maybe she's some kind of boss in her world? Well, she mentioned she went through this tutorial too."
A few more minutes passed, Dmitry was lying on the trunk of a huge tree with bright blue petals rising around its entire body, the enormous canopy full of pink leaves so translucent he could see through them. Amidst this, Dmitry lay on a trunk that extended outward, allowing him to rest there without danger of falling, using the petals and leaves as a pillow. He looked around, seeing only other ordinary trees and a few groups of blue-skinned Goblins with red eyes, wielding various melee weapons and wearing animal leather clothing. Minutes passed, and Dmitry was breathing steadily. "Certainly, defeating the ruler in my current state would be impossible, but I only see wolves and Goblins these days."
Dmitry jumped from the tree, placing a hand on it, drawing his sword from its sheath, and began looking from afar at a group of blue-skinned Goblins. He stroked his chin while they looked around, then resheathed his sword at his waist. "I was trying to get as close to reality as possible, but this doesn't suit me."
Dmitry threw himself on the ground, looking up at the cloudless sky. He took out his sword and scanned the surroundings to ensure no creatures were waiting for him to let his guard down. He sighed and said, "Map."
A huge game system window appeared with red borders and a black background, turning transparent, showing only the image of various mountainous areas, a vast forest, a giant volcano in the middle of all the areas, and the last area that appeared, neither entirely gray nor black, with no name or description. It showed just seven areas, the last being a vast snow-covered region with all places' descriptions hidden. Dmitry, looking more closely at each unnamed area, saw that between the division of this area and another, there was a place called Königreich des Blutes. A smile formed on his face as he read the description:
[Königreich des Blutes - one kilometer away, the first of countless forests in the area became home to a creature born in a cave that housed a vast number of bats. This creature, with long blond hair and red eyes, possesses the strange ability to control blood and increase its power with it, becoming trapped in this place. Inside, a strange box made of earth and other natural elements awaits the day it will know what happened to it.]
"What happened? So, the first mission is to take care of a vampire, explain what he is, and talk about the basics of the world... basically, the parent of an immortal creature who could kill me at any moment, how interesting." Dmitry said as he got up, grabbed his sword, and dusted off his pants. Heading toward the forest, toward Königreich des Blutes, he saw a black bat with blood dripping from one of its wings, hitting Dmitry's face, and falling to the ground severely injured.
Lying on the ground, it looked up at Dmitry and said, "I found you..."
"A bat? Really a bat, but how can you talk?" Dmitry picked up the fallen bat, pulling out a piece of fabric he had taken long ago from a Goblin's body and kept in a pouch on his waist, opposite his sword's sheath. He carefully wrapped it to stop the blood flowing from the bat's wing.
"I don't have time to explain now, but in short, he was my master, and because of that, other creatures found out and are after him. You're the only creature that looks like him. Please, save him," the bat implored weakly.
Dmitry looked curiously at the bat in his hand, which was covering itself with the uninjured wing.
"I know how strong your master is, so why? Why do I need to protect him from inferior creatures?" Dmitry asked, intrigued, already sensing this was the trigger for some quest.
The bat replied, "You might know everything about the master from the outside, which I think is impossible, but even if you do, he locked himself in what he calls home and since then, he doesn't know what he is, what we are, or where we are."
"I see, the first vampire is in shock and can't accept reality. Anyway, even without looking at the map, I would've found you." Dmitry said, placing the bat inside the remaining fabric after wrapping it around its chest, making it comfortable. He began running toward the place where the first-born vampire was trapped inside his own mind, risking encountering other creatures.
"So let's start the protection team for the next ruler of this world." Dmitry said, jumping and grabbing a tree branch, climbing to the top, leaping to the trunk, and running from tree to tree, checking the small bat every two minutes to ensure it was still safe.
"Finally here, let's see who's around." Dmitry said, hidden a few meters away at the top of one of the many trees scattered around. He looked at an enormous mansion with two gargoyles, one headless, in front of a door covered in numerous scratches and four heavily dented metal armors. All the windows bore countless scratches and small cracks. A bit further from the house, he saw a gray-skinned orc with one entirely white eye and the other black, covered in numerous healed wounds, massive teeth, and over two meters tall, eating the gargoyle statue's head with a club the size of his arm, sitting atop several other creatures' bodies.
"You brought me to the right place; with this guy, I should gain a lot of experience, not to mention the mission reward." Dmitry said, hanging the bat on a tree branch, jumping down, and drawing his sword, looking at the orc sitting and chewing the statue.
"So you're not strong enough to get in there?" Dmitry asked, pointing to the mansion beside him, standing a hundred meters from the orc, who threw the gargoyle statue's head and roared, sending grass and small objects flying or moving.
"Unknown creature, how dare you disrespect me?" The orc said, standing up, seeming even larger, switching the club to his other hand, closing and opening his eyes as their colors swapped, white becoming black and black becoming white.
"You mean like this?" Dmitry asked, grabbing the skin on the orc's arm, slicing all the fingers from the hand not holding the club.
"What an unbearable creature you are! How?" The orc shouted in fury.
"For an orc, you talk too much. Does that mean you'll develop a better fighting sense over time?" Dmitry said, standing on the orc's club, pointing his sword tip at the orc's chest.
"Get out of here, repulsive creature." The orc shouted, slamming the ground, creating a loud noise and opening a crater. Dmitry landed, smiling, beckoning the orc with his hand and running toward him.
"What's that noise? Could it be the Trins?" A boy dressed in a black suit and dress pants, wearing a white tie, with long blond hair and eyes red as cut rubies, crouched, and looking out the window, saw a young man fighting the enormous orc. He could see heat signatures in the boy's chest like the Trins. Looking to the side, he saw the fabric wrap hidden in the tree, smiled, his legs trembling, falling to his knees, crying.
"I finally found someone; I can finally know what I am; I can finally take care of Trins and not the other way around."
