Chapter 7: Party trouble

Everyone had been dancing for a while, and Eli was having a great time, which helped her to forget a little about the hectic day she'd had. Alicia and Julia took advantage of some of the songs to continue teasing Eli, dancing provocatively with her.

At first, Eli was a little embarrassed, but as the evening progressed and she drank more beers, she relaxed and went with the flow. Sometimes it was even she who initiated provocative dances with Alicia and Julia.

When the girls danced like this, a small circle formed around them, with people watching and sometimes whistling. Page and Taylor burst out laughing every time, and even Eliot, though amused, dissuaded some from making inappropriate comments.

Since it was his home where the party was being held, Eliot had to make sure everything went smoothly, especially with people he liked. He had asked his team-mates to handle security.

So far, so good: a few people had had too much to drink and were throwing up in a corner of the field or in the pond, but there had been no ethylic comas or fights. Eliot was satisfied. It was past midnight and the party was in full swing. Tired from the day's dancing and strolling, Eli's legs were aching. She moved away from the dance floor to fetch a glass of water.

Page noticed Eli moving away and followed her. The two friends chatted quietly as they made their way to the drinks.Page was pretty without being particularly beautiful, but she was always funny, jovial and bubbly, which made her irresistible. Tall and athletic, she had long brown hair often styled in a bun, prominent cheekbones, hazel eyes and thin lips.

Everyone knew Page, and she was a member of the high school student office. She and Eli were in the same class and on the same sports team, and despite Page's boundless energy, Eli liked her a lot.

While teasing Eli, Page asked him about his famous meeting and his feelings after Alicia and Julia's kiss. Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Eli confided without blushing or embarrassment, even going so far as to use slightly vulgar words. Page listened attentively, laughing at Eli's descriptions.

The two friends arrived at the drinks table. Eli took a glass of water while Page poured herself another beer. Eli pointed out to Page that she was already quite tipsy, but Page retorted that she was strong and the beer wouldn't make her sick.

Eli and Page settled into a quiet spot by the pond. Eli asked Page about his relationship with Taylor. Page recounted that their story had begun at the beginning of the vacations, that they saw each other often, and that after a successful evening at the Crescent Theater, they had decided to go out together.

Eli noticed that Page was finding it increasingly difficult to talk and concentrate, blaming it on the alcohol. She hoped Page hadn't overdone it, because she didn't like seeing people throw up from alcohol.

Page began to look at Eli strangely, breathing heavily. Suddenly, with a big smile, Page kissed Eli, a passionate, languorous kiss, and began to touch her breasts. Eli, tetanized, didn't know what to do. This was completely different from kissing Alicia and Julia. Suddenly, Page leaned forward and vomited next to Eli.

"I feel weird, Elizabeth, my head's spinning, my body's on fire, my head hurts..." complained Page.

Before Eli could react, Page collapsed on top of her, breathing heavily and with a burning forehead. Touching Page's forehead and observing her breathing and demeanor, Eli immediately realized that it wasn't just the alcohol.

She took out her phone and called Alicia and Julia, but they didn't answer. She tried Eliot, but he didn't answer either. Panicked, she called her brother.
