chapter 4 : the test

"finally full," stella say after eating a large boar that she just found and kill, 'when the next evolution came, i need to be more prepare, i can't just go and havock around the forest to look for food all the time,' though stella, when she enter the forest she look for anything she can put at her mouth because of her hunger, just her luck that she manage to found this boar, or else she will be dead.

'i need to comeback, i bet they we're looking for me,' stella though who leave and comeback to the other.

"stella come on, we're going to leave," say sophia to stella who at that time running toward them.

"i'm coming," say stella who at that time enter the carriage before emily decide to go to the capital.

"wow, you got 2 tail now," say sophia who look at stella new look, although the only thing that change it's only her tail.

"can i touch it, please," sophia plead with a her cuteness that make stella sigh and nod.

"yey," say sophia then she quickly got up from her seat and sit beside stella while holding her soft and comfy tail.

"so how do you feel, ?" ask barton.

"well i feel a lot stronger actually, though i don't know that it will take a lot energy to evolve," say stella who at that time feel like an idiot for not make any type of preparation, the next time she evolve, she has to brought a lot of food with her, although she doesn't know when her next evolution will be.

"well, emile said that you need a lot of energy to evolve, so what kind of evolution did you get, ?" ask barton.

"well i evolved from one tail fox to two tail fox, the only different is from this evolution that i got 2 tail instead of 1," say stella who at that time they continue their journey to the naval kingdom.

few days passed in the blink of an eye, right now stella and the other are in the front gate to the naval kingdom.

stella look at from behind the glass and see a lot of people not only human, but also beastman, elf and dwarf as well, doing trade and a lot of thing.

'wow,' amazement can be see in her eye, is the first time stella went to a big city like this, sure in her previous life, such as large and tall building are common, but after her reincarnation, this is the first time she see the town, so it make her excited.

"look like you're happy huh," say barton.

"yes, this is the first time i went to the big city, it make feel excited," say stella who her tail isn't stop moving.

"i can clearly see that," say barton who look at stella tail who keep moving even though her sister hold them, while the carriage keep moving to the estate where their lives.

"this is," say stella who look at the steel door and behind it, is a big mantion with a few knight who drew their sword and stsrt fighting.

"are they fighting, ?" ask stella.

"no, is common for a knight to sometime spar with one after another, this is one of the time," say barton who then stella look at the weapon that the knight hold, and it look like they we're made of a wood.

"i see, can i sometime spar with them, ?" ask stella who look excited with chance to have a spar with other people.

"w-well, i talk to the instructur beth about that," say barton who a little nervous about asking them, as they get out from the carriage, and try to enter the mantion only to be pulled to tight hug by a blond woman.

"don't you guys know, how worried i'm when you guys gone," say the elder women to sophia and barton who at that time try to comfort the elder women.

"sorry mother," say the two in union while stella look suprised by the sudden revelation.

"your forgiven, oh who's the little girl, ?" ask her.

"mother, this is stella aubert, she is the one who protect us in the rain hunt forest along with emile," say barton who then explain the situation to her mother who listen to every single detail.

"i see, thank you for saving my children, my name aiura arbento, i'm the duchess and also the wife of philif arbento, the duke of the naval kingdom," say aiura who bow her head to show her sincerily to stella for saving her child, while the other who see it has a shock expression on their face.

maybe for stella who is still new to this world, she still doesn't understand about the common sense of this world, therefore a noble who bow their head is something she regand trivial for her.

meanwhile stella can feel the atmosphore grow thicker by the second so she decide to ease tension by asking the duchess.

"you don't have to do that, i just passing by that time, and i believe that any person will do the same," say stella who help the duchess to stand up and not bow to her.

"from what i hear from my son, that you also looking for a job, am i right," say the duchess to stella who only nod.

"may i ask, what kind of skill that you're good at, ?" say the duchess who want to know what stella good at, and after that she can put her in a job fit her the most, although her daughter really want her to be her personal maid.

"i can cook, and do some cleaning, i can use a sword to fight, though i'm still an amateur, also i can use a few magic," say stella to the duchess who her face doesn't show any type of interest.

"you said before that you can use magic right, ?" ask the duchess who then stella nod her head slowly.

"then show me," say the duchess than stella start using the transformation magic that make her fox ear and tail dissapear.

then she cast a speel to make a fireball a size of head before she tone down the fire and extinguish it, the last she make copy of herself who stella comment to bow to the duchess.

'hm, her magic is definitely not bad, her transformation magic look perfect, if i don't know from the start, she look like a normal human, while her fire magic is still need a lot improvement but that can be arrange, while her last magic that she show is something i never seen before, she make some kind of copy of herself and command them, but it's look like is very weak,' though the duchess who still on her though before nodding her head approving stella, although she need to taste her food first.

actually stella already past the qualification to become the knight in this duke household, but the position that she aim is the personal maid of her child, so even if stella is the person who save her childs, she need to be fair and judge her whenever she fit for the job or not.

"all right, now follow me to the kitchen," say the duchess, then she and stella when to the kitchen with the other maid.

"duchess, what bring you here, ?" say the chef to the duchess who then pointed her finger to stella.

"and who is this young miss, ?" ask the chef who look at stella.

"this is stella aubert," say the duchess who then stella bow hear head to say hello, while the chef also return it eith a hello and a gentle smile.

"head chef, i want you to be the judge of the food stella going to make, stella you can freely use the kitchen to make your dish," say the duchess.

after hearing that, stella quickly gather all the ingredient she need to make the food, and since there are a person who wait for her food, stella decide to make a friend chicken.

she first start by removing the bones from the flash, and after that she hit the meat with a hammer until it flat, then she cover the chicken meat with mix of floor and a few ingredient that she just prepared earlier.

then she fried it on the hot oil for about a few minutes before she stir them up and fried it once again to make it more crispy.

"hm, interesting," say the head chef who look at the chicken that was prepared by the little girl, honestly he had a doubt that a little girl like stella can cook, and even if she can, maybe the only thing she can make is a simple dish, but from the look of it, the food she was going to make will be delicious.

"it perfectly fried," complament the chef to stella who nod for a positive respond.

"but how about the taste," say the chef who took a piece and bite it, and smile to stella.

"the taste is wonderful, you got a full mark," say the chef.
