After driving for two hours, they finally arrived. She had eaten half the snacks they had bought on the way.
"You said it would take a few minutes but these were hours," she said getting out.
"Don't worry it will be worthwhile " he stood behind her and covered her eyes.
"Now what are you doing ?" she asked. But still followed his lead.
"Careful don't fall," he said..then let go.
Tatiana gasped as she saw the far-stretched field of yellow tall sunflowers. She laughed looking back at him and then to the field.
"How is it ?" he asked.
She laughed, "Bright and so yellow "
He laughed, "Am glad you like it "
"Can we go closer ?" she asked.
"Go ahead," he said watching her.
She pulled off her shoes and ran into the field, jumping in and out of the flowers. Forgetting all the problems she let go letting the happiness around fill her up.
She returned shortly after running around with two huge sunflowers.
"One for me and the other for you," she said sitting next to him.
"Thank you " he took his, "how do you feel now ?"
"Happy but hungry again ".
He chuckled, "then let's go feed you ".
"Maybe later, I still want to stay longer here " Tatiana let out.
Jack sat back down, "Okay "
.....
"You have been jolly recently, did something happen during the weekend ?" asked Patricia
Tatiana snickered, "No, am just in a good mood ".
"Okay, if you say so, any way you haven't told me how it went at the station"
"I made my statement then let him go"
"Why? He deserved to be in there after what he did "
"Yes I know but his parents would be so hurt if they found out and I know that would have affected mom so I let it go," she said.
"I just hope he learnt his lesson "
Tatiana scoffed, "He did and I don't think he will do it again "
"You sound so sure "
She smirked, "I saw the fear in his eyes when Jack told him to stay away from me ".
"Mmm, so we are hiding behind our fiancee " Patricia Laughed.
"Who said I was hiding behind him am just glad he was able to help me ...but he's not my fiancee ".
"Oh, then who is he then, for you to let him stay over and also protect us from others ?" asked Patricia.
"He's a friend, a good friend " she answered.
She could see her friend's mocking face, "Okay, so when did you agree on that ?"
"I know what you're doing so I won't play along. Let's get back to work " she turned away from Patricia who was giggling nonstop.
Her phone rang, and an unknown number called.
"Hello "
"You're free after work ?"
"Who is this ?" she asked.
"It's Jack, Tati, "he said
"Oh, Jack, hi "
"So are you free after work ?" he asked again.
She frowned how did he even get her number?
"Yes I am "
"Then can I take you out for dinner ?" he asked
"Ahh, am not sure "
"Why, you just said you will be free "
She sighed he sounded disappointed.
"I am but am just not sure about the dinner "
"Still not a friend yet ?" he asked, she chuckled, "No, you are a friend ".
"So let me buy you dinner tonight," he said.
"Okay "
"Great, will pick you up around seven-thirty. Thanks " and he hangs up.
She laughed how did he get her number or how was he going to pick her up without knowing where she worked?
She shrugged, "Let him figure it out "
