Magic - Ice

"E-ehhh?"

Since Riveria was unavailable, He could only ask Lefiya for this matter, and her reaction didn't surprise him at all.

"How is that possible? No chant, No visualization...How did that even happen?"

He thought she was the shy type, always stuttering, yet, once the topic of Magic was brought up, all that shyness disappeared. She mumbled so fast Ais tilted her head in confusion. She couldn't follow her after a few words she spoke, though that didn't make her expression change in the slightest.

"…I told you, Lefiya…is really good at…magic."

Almost as if she had won some sort of trophy, Ais nodded in affirmation of her words while Ryuu shook his head.

"Let me understand what you're saying, Elf…"

She stopped mumbling as she frowned at the unpleasant way he was referring to her, though she chose to ignore it since possibly new knowledge of Magic even she did not know of could be unveiled.

"…Try using your Magic."

Of course, they were in a training room of the Loki Familia, this meaning Ryuu could freely use his magic as he did just that. Instead of recalling blocks or weapons, he thought his [Frozen Land] skill could be used differently, which did not disappoint him.

As Ryuu tapped his foot on the ground, his eyes narrowed as he focused on channelling his magic. A blue aura surrounded him as the temperature in the room dropped drastically as a result.

With a deep inhale, Ryuu unleashed the full power he could master with it currently. A wave of intense cold radiated outwards from him, freezing everything in its path. The ground, the air, and even the nearby objects all began to freeze over in an instant.

The radius of this freezing effect was a few meters wide. Objects unable to withstand the sudden drop in temperature shattered, turning into a dust of ice. The ground itself became a sheet of solid ice, making it difficult for anyone to move around.

As the freezing effect reached its maximum, Ryuu stopped channelling his magic. He took in Lefiya's surprised expression with a smile since she seemed so composed a while ago. Seeing her losing her cool was somewhat amusing for him.

He also didn't miss the challenging look Ais gave him. If he were to use this skill during their fight, perhaps things would have been different, but he shook his head since they were only sparring. As she used no skills of her own, even if he somehow "won", he would feel even worse than what he felt when he lost fair and square.

After all, Ryuu's core was still that of a trained warrior. Although the world he came from was different, such ideals were deeply engrained in the soul, meaning no world barrier could change this…

"It's clearly different from the usual Magic."

She had seen many types of Magic in her life, but never something so strange. Ryuu's magic had no reason or apparent limit. Not only was there no incantation and low cost, but his Magic was also the most versatile Lefiya had ever seen.

After he showed her this "trick" , Ryuu also showed how he could practically use 'Ice' in any way possible. Shaping it in any form as long as he could visualize it.

Somewhat, her thoughts drifted to something extremely similar to this, her own Magic, [Elf Ring]. With it, as long as she had a clear image and chant of a particular Elf Magic, she could use it…

Though apart from that slight similarity, there was nothing else...

She was deep in thought and after a while, she gazed at him with a determined expression

"After talking with you, I understand you have an intriguing view of Magic that is different from me…I certainly hate you, but for the sake of understanding Magic, please, let's work together. I will also inform Riveria-san of all this and see what she thinks…"

She had many reasons not to 'hang out' with him. But if that could further her research on Magic, then she could call a 'truce' since all of them would benefit from it…

"I also hate you, but I don't see any reason to refuse your proposal. Also, I showed you my Magic, now it's your turn."

He hated how much of a 'simp' she was, though he wouldn't say it now since he could benefit from it.

This 'cooperation' was important. If they could better understand Magic, that would benefit him. But ultimately, he would not waste too much time on this issue. Many simple tests he had time to conduct proved to him this Magic could be used safely and had the potential to be a great aid for him in the Dungeon. Since it proved to be so versatile, Ryuu also had many ways to use it he did not show or tried yet..

"…Then, I will show you one of my strongest Ice Magic spells."

She held her staff with conviction and stood tall with her arms outstretched. She began to chant the incantations for her ice magic spell, "Wynn Fimbulvetr." Her voice was clear and melodic as she spoke the ancient words, each syllable pronounced with precision and power.

As she chanted, a magic circle began to appear below her feet. The circle was etched in a deep blue color and adorned with intricate patterns and symbols that glimmered in the light. The circle expanded rapidly, growing larger and larger until it was several meters in diameter.

As the chant reached its climax, Lefiya poured her magic energy into the circle. The symbols and patterns on the circle began to glow, and a chill ran through the air. Suddenly, a wave of ice erupted from the circle, spreading out in all directions.

The ice spread rapidly, freezing everything in its path just like Ryuu's spell did. Lefiya stood at the center of it all, her body surrounded by a swirling vortex of ice and snow.

Ryuu took in the sight with an extremely concentrated expression as he finally saw something interesting.

'So that is how the Magic Circle operates…'

His own magic couldn't have a Magic Circle. He did not have the [Mage] development ability yet, though that wouldn't be so for too much time as he already had more than enough qualifications to level up.

After returning home, he would be sure to do so as in a few days, when the Denatus would be held, the Gods would find themselves unable to choose what nickname to give him…
