Chapter 65

Snap!

While lightly strumming the guitar in his hands, Leonardo sighed at the snapped strings. However, in less than a second it was repaired. Where Leonardo once again lightly strummed the strings for a few cords before they once more snapped.

"So even the immensely talented Leo isn't good at something." Chloe teased as she walked into the Kent House.

"I never claimed to be good at everything. Besides, with a bit of practice I will outshine most legendary guitarists." Leonardo ignored Chloe's tease. "So what brings you by? Clark is out with Alicia again."

"That is why I am here." Chloe rocked on her feet. "While I don't mean to sound like a jealous girlfriend. However, I was hoping you would convince Clark to stay away from her. He has been staying around her too much."

Leonardo just looked at her with uncaring eyes for he truthfully didn't care. The two are friends and Clark seems to be having fun again. Unlike before where he has to be all serious and try to save everyone around him.

"Chloe, Alicia may have done wrong in the past, however isolating and treating her as a monster will just make her return to the way she once was." Leonardo said. "Besides, it was just an attempt to kill Lana when she mentally snapped."

"Your bias against Lana is showing." Chloe said.

"Well, the two of them are friends so it is reasonable to hang out. Unless you want to be Clark's mother and tell Clark who he can or can't be friends with for the rest of your life." Leonardo replied.

"That is not what I mean." Chloe frowned.

"Isn't it? Chloe, you are asking me to basically ban Clark from being friends with someone else due to their past mistakes. You are Clark's friend and you need to realize that not all of Clark's friends you will like, just like he doesn't need to like all your friends." Leonardo answered. "Besides, if you are basically against Alicia due to past mistakes, I think you did more damage with your so-called Reporter Curiosity and the school paper. So shall I ask Clark to stop being friends with you too?"

"This isn't about me." Chloe grumbled.

"Then don't ask unreasonable things." Leonardo answered back.

Chloe just gave that look all girls seem to master upon hitting a certain age before stomping out of the house. Leonardo just shook his head at this and tossed this episode out of his mind. While Clark did spend some time with Alicia, it wasn't something to make a huge deal out of it.

Not long after Chloe left and Leonardo tinkering with the guitar in his hand. The door slammed open with Jonathan huffing and puffing. His face filled with anger as he wanted to slam his fist on the counter but stopped before he hit it.

"Did you know?" Jonathan glanced at Leonardo.

"I know lots of things, but mind reading isn't one." Leonardo calmly stated. "However, judging by your expression, actions and body language. I venture a guess that Chloe ran to you after I rejected her."

"You know what Alicia did last time." Jonathan stated. "It's not safe for Clark to be around her. She knows his secret."

"Last time she had a mental snap,however, since the doctors feel she is well enough to rejoin society. Then believe their judgment and trust Clark's. While Clark didn't have the most reasonable one in the past, he has matured as did his judgment." Leonardo sighed.

"I'm just afraid Clark will be hurt or his secret will be leaked." Jonathan retorted.

"If he hurts then he will learn. You must allow him to grow and not be so overprotective of him. He is nearly an adult now and either you like it or not. You won't be around forever and you must allow him to make mistakes while you are still around to help him fix them." Leonardo answered. "Besides, we've been over this a few times in the past."

"You're right. I just let emotion run my actions." Jonathan calmed down.

After a few minutes, Jonathan grabbed a cup of coffee then headed back outside to continue working.

Then after a few hours, Leonardo was twisting and creating his own guitar strings. He was currently making them out of a more durable material so hopefully they won't snap on him while keeping their original sound. For he got fed up with the strings snapping after a few light strums.

While he lightly pulled the sting he just made which made a light ting sound, he smiled before he heard a small cough. The sudden cough made his smile freeze as he looked up to see Martha standing there with her hands on her hips.

'Please don't be about Clark and Alicia.' Leonardo thought.

"Leo, do you know where Clark is?" Martha asked.

"Probably on Earth?" Leonardo replied.

Clearly his joke wasn't well received if the glare he got in return was to go by. Which led him to wish graduation to come soon. Then off to the academy where hopefully he doesn't have to play peacemaker between the Kent couple and Clark.

For some reason this couple seem to be more drama filled compared to other versions of them. From telling Clark to go out to live his life, then backhanding him when he does something they disagree with as it doesn't fit their view of the times. Then Clark gets moody due to feeling he must save everyone or be the hero. Which he is both praised and dismissed by the Kent couple, making him confused.

Now that is not to say they are bad people or Clark is a perfect son. It's just the three seem to enjoy adding drama between themselves. Which is tiring in his own opinion if Leonardo had to say anything about it.

"Did you know that Clark is hanging out with Alicia." Martha asked.

"Well, the two are friends." Leonardo replied feeling the deja vu.

"Why? Doesn't he know what the girl did last time?" Martha questioned him.

"I would imagine so, since he was part of the incident." Leonardo dryly replied.

"Well I don't like it. She might hurt him because she knows his weakness." Martha grumbled.

Leonardo counted down from ten as he decided it might be best to run away for a while. He is so tired of this conversation today. Three different people ran to him as if he could magically control others' actions. So what if Alicia has a criminal record and did try to kill Lana. The girl had a mental breakdown and is now receiving help.

'I can understand why Lana has such a big issue with Alicia, but what is the deal with everyone else? Chloe basically brought it upon herself writing that article in the school paper. So if Alicia wanted revenge she might be targeted. While Martha and Jonathan could frown at her as she did sneak into Clark's room in her underwear. Which is a big no no on their traditional views.' Leonardo mentally thought.

Even after thinking about it for a bit, Leonardo still couldn't come up with an answer. Alicia hasn't done anything bad at the moment upon being released, beside taking Clark ice skating. Which wasn't a big deal unless Clark falls just right and cracks the ice rink.

"I think she has a bigger chance of breaking his heart than anything." Leonardo finally commented.

Martha seemed slightly displeased at his lack of action or care. Thus, Leonardo looked at the calendar and decided to run away for a few days. For what he is going to do? He doesn't know yet, but maybe he will hit the beaches of California.

"When you see Clark, tell him I want to chat with him." Martha said before walking away.

Leonardo just shook his head while feeling today was too troublesome.
