"How much longer do you have? Before all your time passes, I mean." Devotion asked, after a few moments of awkward silence.

"There's no way to tell for sure. When we cultivate, our life span increases, but as far as any of us are aware, that isn't forever. Everything has an end, Devotion. Even Rydel Alabaster reached that end, no matter how powerful we all know he was." The Duke reflected on his experiences.

Devotion sensed that there may have been some history there, so he decided to pry. Worst case scenario, the Duke doesn't tell him anything.

"Did you ever meet him? Alabaster, I mean." Devotion asked.

"Yes. Many times. We actually fought once, too." The Duke responded, nonchalantly.

"You fought Rydel Alabaster? And survived?" Devotion was shocked to hear this.
