When the most powerful mage in the world suddenly dies and leaves his inheritance spread across his journal pages, a mad dash to collect them erupts on the continent. Conversations and Discoveries

"Well, Holden, we've got some ground to cover." Said Devotion, clapping him on the back as he walked towards an unexplored tunnel. Holden was silent, but if looks could kill, Devotion would have died ten times over.

The two walked down the tunnel in silence for some time, before Devotion finally spoke up.

"Can I ask you a question?" Devotion asked, turning and looking at Holden.

"Drop the act, already. Getting on my nerves." Holden replied, much less amiable.

"Listen, I am dropping it. I was playing up theatrics because it's funny, but I'm serious now. I'll ask you again: Can I ask you a question?" Devotion reiterated. He was being genuine, this time.

"Fine. What?" Holden replied, staring straight ahead. He was still thinking of his staring contest with Ysmir. He did not want to risk it if Devotion had a similar ability.
