Upon hearing the offer from the servant of this human market, Tenur immediately accepted. "Very well, let's take all four for the price of 20 gold coins."
"Amir, are you sure about that?" Shui looked at his superior, sensing that this deal could result in a massive loss if it went wrong.
Twenty gold coins were not much for four slaves. But if one or two of these women had problems that were to prevent them from being used, then a good deal would quickly turn into something to regret.
But they would be buying four, not two. So there was still the risk that all of them would be incapable, and the damage would be even greater!
Amir heard that but said nothing. Instead, he simply took the coins and gave them to the human market servant.
Tenur then said. "Don't worry. These women don't seem physically unfit or mentally unstable."
He had exchanged a few words with these people and noticed that, although tired, they seemed lucid.
At the same time, they, like other slaves in the cells of this human market, were dressed in small garments that covered only their private parts. So Tenur could see that, although out of shape and ugly, these women had no apparent injuries.
In this case, they should have enough to stay in the kitchen.
"I trust you, Tenur," Amir said as Shui turned on his back, feeling disgusted and angry.
The servant of this store was more than happy with this business and soon went to record the sale of those four women, marking them as sold in his record book.
"Seniors, who will be their master?" He asked.
"Mero Touma," Amir answered without delay.
A servant could not own slaves in this society. Only masters had that right, so even though Mero was not around, they had to assign ownership over these women to him.
The human market servant quickly did the registration protocol, soon giving Amir the IDs of those women and finalizing the deal.
"Very well, seniors, these female slaves now belong to your master." He said smilingly, right after handing over the four women, in chains, to these three. "Remembering that we do not make returns, and once they leave the store, this human market will have no dealings with them."
Amir and Shui knew how slave buying worked and showed no emotion at these words.
But Tenur was surprised and immediately began to check those women's bodies still inside the store.
"Senior, how..." That man swallowed his saliva and imagined the worst of Tenur, feeling that this person had some kind of perversion above the ordinary.
However, Tenur was only checking the physical situation of these women.
'Two of them must be around 27 to 30 years old. The other two are certainly over 35...' He pondered as he noted that there seemed to be no fractures or hidden injuries on those bodies. 'Those ages are not low for humans of this place... But depending on their luck, they may live another 5 or 10 years.'
He thought for a while and concluded that they could become profitable.
With that, Tenur nodded positively to Amir, and they left that store soon after, returning to Mero's estate in Cusca.
...
After a few minutes of walking, Tenur, the two servants, and the slave girls passed Mero's slave resting place and returned to the store with all those individuals.
But when they arrived in front of the store, they found themselves with more than 30 people in the vicinity, waiting for it to open.
"Hey, Tenur, what's up with you guys today? What took you so long to come here?" One of the first customers to order the cast shouted, feeling offended that he had to wait.
But most of those people had some respect for Mero, so they didn't cross the line.
Tenur explained. "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. But we'll open it in a moment. We already have the items scheduled to be delivered today, so we'll just have to collect your data and payments to deliver the plaster you ordered."
"Oh?" The customers who had heard that they would receive their bags of plaster today opened their mouths, satisfied.
Thus, Tenur and the slaves quickly opened Mero's store.
The slaves responsible for the kitchen and the production of plaster and paint went to their respective places, and the rest were at Tenur's disposal.
Seeing those individuals with nothing to do, Tenur ordered the men to go and get the resources that he, Amir, and Shui had bought after buying the four women. Then he made the women start cleaning the store since he would only teach them later.
With that, he made his way to the checkout counter, where a line of men waiting for their cast was already duly formed, with Shui and Amir watching them.
Tenur then saw the first customer in line and said to everyone. "We have a thousand kilos of plaster to deliver today, so if anyone here is scheduled to receive it tomorrow, don't waste your time. We only have enough to deliver what was scheduled.
Anyway, I have the names of those who should receive them today, so don't try to cut the line."
Tenur managed to make some of those individuals give him ugly looks with those words, but most were following the rules, so nothing happened.
In this way, he would easily distribute a thousand kilograms of plaster in less than half an hour, collecting 10,000 bronze coins.
As for the plaster, it was delivered dry, and to all the customers who received the packages with the material in question, Tenur explained how to make it into the paste that Mero's slaves passed on the store's walls.
Most of the customers who had plaster to receive today had ordered a few pounds. Hence, their servants easily managed to pick up their purchases without further problems.
Amid these deliveries, more people ordered plaster with Tenur while other customers finished emptying the store's stock with their purchases.
...
By mid-afternoon, nothing was left of the furniture created by Tenur to be sold in Mero's store.
Everything there had been sold, and all the plaster to be delivered today had also been sold earlier in the morning.
By mid-afternoon, Tonur had collected 980 silver coins, arriving at this part of the day without much else to do but wait for the people who would pay for the loaves of bread ordered the day before.
Due to the low traffic in the afternoon, Tenur took the chance to teach the four women how to make his bread with the ingredients the other slaves had brought from a local store.
After doing this and leaving those women to work with the other men who were already used to the kitchen, Tenur went to the plaster and paint production area.
There he saw that everything was going well with the plaster production, which was due to run out soon because of the lack of supplies.
He then looked at the paint production and saw that by the following day; this store would have enough paint to paint the outside and inside areas of this store.
'Very good. Tomorrow I will have another product to sell in this store while the plaster is in short supply...' He smiled.
But as Tenur felt the excellent results of his actions slowly showing themselves, suddenly shouting sounds came from the front of the store, drawing his attention.
"Get out of the way!"
"Is this the damn store that stole my goods earlier?"
"Yes, young master! I saw when the slaves of this place stole the young master's grain!"
"What? Then who is responsible for that? I demand his head!"
