Without warning, Simon brought his lips close to Paige's ears. She felt a warm and cold tingling sensation at the same time.
"I know you come to my room." He whispered. "Do you like what you see?" He touched the crease of her ears softly and Paige let out a soft suppressed moan.
Who knew that the crease of her ears held such bouts of arousal.
"Yes." She whispered back without thinking.
Do you want to feel it." He asked as he planted tiny kisses in her ear lobe followed by a tiny bite and a lick.
"Stop." Paige managed to say as her lips quivered.
"Should I stop or continue Sunflower?" Simon asked smiling.
"I have a boyfriend." Paige shut her eyes and finally forced herself to say it. Extremely grateful to God that her brain was still functioning.
"Hmmm," he hummed.
He moved his hands down her shoulder and just when they were close to her bossom, he stopped. "I'll always leave my door open for you then." He said and left the same way he came.
After a few seconds, she opened her eyes, with Simon nowhere to be found. She checked around to be sure no one saw them. Feeling the heat in-between her legs, she stood up and made her way upstairs as fast as her legs could carry her.
As she walked to her room, she tried to imagine what would have happened if she had allowed herself get carried away.
____________
It's been eight days in The Kentley's Mansion and Paige had been nothing but happy and at peace. She made sure to avoid any further encounter with Simon by avoiding the garden totally and timing herself to know the best time to either go up to her room or leave her room for downstairs.
She also ensured to always be in an open space, surrounding by at least the helps whenever he was around. As she promised herself to be of her best behavior and not allow any source of distraction deter her from carrying out the job she was paid for.
Paige sat on one of the chairs in the sitting room as she dialed her boyfriend's number for the thirtieth time that morning. He hasn't been picking her calls and this has been going on for three days ago.
She'd thought it was nothing serious until it lingered till the third day. After the last ring, she placed a call to her secretary at Pai-boxes.
"I haven't spoken to Stefan for days now, is everything okay over there?" She asked immediately Aurora picked up.
"Good afternoon Miss. Paige. Why, he said he was coming to see you. That you requested his presence for an urgent meeting in order to discuss product cost. Since we are fast running out of stock." Aurora replied.
"What!" Paige exclaimed. "I did no such thing. Prior to three days ago, we spoke on phone. But we neither spoke of visits nor product cost. During our last time conversation about a restock, spoke, he told me that the store will get restocked before the end of the week, and the was four days ago. We've not had any other discussion on that matter." Paige replied in confusion.
"When did he tell you about this meeting of ours?" She finally asked trying her best to remain calm.
"About four or five days after your departure." Aurora replied.
Paige stood up and started pacing the room. She rubbed her forehead continuously trying to put her thoughts together.
"Aurora, I need you to do something for me. Head over to the police and report a missing person. Can you do that for me?" She asked trying to catch her breath.
"Yes," Aurora replied in a shaky voice. "I'll head over there quickly and update you on the outcome."
"Good. I'll be waiting." Paige breathed out before hanging up.
She slumped back into the receiving arms of the chair she had stood up from and allowed her thoughts wander as she thought of the possible things that could lead to Stefan's absence and his reason for lying to Aurora. Maybe he was in danger or he was threatened.
"But by whom"? She asked herself.
As she kept wondering what might have gone wrong and waiting on her phone for a possible call from her secretary, Simon was in his room watching her from his computer screen with the help of the tiny camera placed in the sitting room.
After watching her for a while and seeing that she was all calm now, he continued buttoning up his shirt as he was getting ready to leave the house.
After waiting for what felt like ages without hearing from Aurora, she decided to head back to her room. At least in there, she'll be able to lay down while she waited for the call.
Stepping into the corridor that connects the sitting room to the stairs that led to her room, she heard the sound of a car outside and she quickly moved to the window and was able to see Simon's car drive out of the house.
The whole house felt empty except for the guards who were positioned scantily in few corners of the house. She made it to her room in no time and perceived it, the strong wooden fragrance of Simon's cologne with a mixture of fresh fragrance coming from the fresh stalk of Sunflower that were carefully cut and kept on her bedside drawer in a transparent vase filled with water. This only meant that Simon was in her room.
She stepped closer to the flower vase and smiled as she perceive the undernote of Simon's perfume, a mix of wood, husk, cardamom and a spicy scent with other undernotes she couldn't identify.
Suddenly, she forgot how creepy it was for him to come into her room without her consent. Picking a stalk from the flower, she brought it to her nose and was about to send inhale it when her phone started ringing.
"Hello." She said over the phone. "Was the police able to find out something." she asked bringing her thoughts back to reality.
"No, nothing yet from the police ma'am. But I've reported a missing person." Aurora replied. "I'm afraid I may have some bad news." She continued in a sad voice.
Paige knew instantly that something was wrong. Reminding her of that feeling of impending doom she's had for days.
