Ch18:Dawn Of A New Day… Unforeseen Trials Ahead 11th Morning

With a strong resolution and an ultimate faith in the light which governs our life, Vastav started walking.  The pungent smell of agarbattis rouses his evocation. A huge gathering of devotees near the Sukleswar Temple attracted Vasu.

He stared at the temple, took a deep breath," Om Namah Shivaya"...with these words he walked on, making a granite tough mind not to halt at any cost.

We the humans have the highest of intelligence than any other beat on earth. This may be the fact that we can express and understand our thoughts and feelings better than any other species. But when intelligence fails, animal instinct, our inborn instinct guides our way.

Vastav mentally calculated his checkpoints to be overcome and halted on looking at the Paanbazar Pani Tanki. "Right… … towards Paanbazar, left to the riverside, straight to Beltola". But instead of going straight, he went in a left direction which finally took him to the river bank.

Vastav sat on the ground, recalculated his way to his destination. As he was about to leave that place, he saw a boy excreting with improper posture as if he couldn't bend his legs. The scene didn't escape from his memory even after he left the place and took the right path.

"This is how I will have to satisfy myself every morning, something odd is going to happen to my knees, it's not a coincidence but an indication, a future indication. Vastav continued walking, but touring Guwahati on cabs, bikes, or city buses was different than touring Guwahati on feet... that too was on an empty stomach and faded memory. There is nothing in this mortal world that can shatter a strong will. The encounters which Vasu had in Sharada-Vimala, which he had in Chakreshwara temple and floating metallic stock Alfresco was enough for a layman to meet his end.

A simple piece of metal turns into a dangerous weapon when beaten with a hammer and given a perfect shape. The responsibility lies in those hands who handheld that weapon.

Despite the continuous death pulls, Vasu escaped, making himself strong in will. This may be the fact that he has lots of greater tasks to accomplish in his future life.

As Vasu walked along the roads in Guwahati, his intuition knocked the core area of his brain. Vasu smiled and talked to himself, "Guwahati is going to change, I can feel the roads going up, floating in nowhere and giving way too many people, a new change in 6th Mile, in Ganeshguri, and many more. May the divine light governing the entire universe, bless Guwahati, may the communication problems lessen here."

#Just as Vastav visioned, Guwahati is now completed in these two flyovers, one in Beltola and the other in Ganeshguri.

"What is it which I still couldn't part with. I freed myself from all my materialistic possessions, had to beg for a cloth to cover my body...… If somebody who knows me, sees me in this condition, they will say...… Vasu has gone mad."

With this awakening, he covered his face along with his body with the worn-out shawl afforded by the roadside beggar.

The fight with the unbearable cold the previous night injected an ultimate frost in his veins. Vasu felt his blood clotting from within and couldn't keep his consciousness away from the sensation.

As Vasu passed by the Guwahati Planetarium, he got completely engrossed in a peculiar sound...."….the same whizzing sound.... I have heard it before." Vasu's hairs were erected and a current flowed in him. He bends his head towards his left and with eyes pointing to nowhere, tried to trace the source. "A strong source of energy," Vasu spoke to himself as he saw two big diyas glowing on either side of the entrance of a Ganesh Mandir. Vastav gazed at the huge idol of Ganapati and put his palms above the burning dias. The flames started burning his palms slowly as he closed his eyes. "Hey you, what are you doing?" Vastav came back to his sense by the strong pull he felt on his palms. The priest of the temple looked at Vastav's face. "Take this apple and go home." The priest left. Vasu looked at his palms blackened by the ash of the diyas. But it didn't hurt him even a bit.

Vasu ate the apple and rubbed the ash on his face and arms. As Vasu continued mild strokes on his face, a pungent aroma attacked his smelling sense. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then sniffed like a dog. Smelling the deep aroma indicated his destination.... the way to unlocking the doors to his shelter, his home. The hidden positive source which was guiding Vasu became silent. Did it surrender itself or it is at work in a higher energy plane removing every obstacle in Vasu's trail?

With an unstirring will, Vasu moved on ignoring every worldly attraction...…tall buildings, attractive girls, malls, and everything which can make a man halt in the mid of a journey. As he moved near Chandmari, an odd building caught his attention.

A newly constructed half-finished hub with a '✖"#'  mark on every entrance. Vasu crept inside the ground floor and look around. He found a hammer and a piece of rod lying on the ground. Sensing the situation, he made out that some people were still at work on the top floor.

Vasu picked the hammer and the rod and started making sounds by hitting the rod with the hammer. For him, what he was doing was beyond his reach, but for the others working there, Vasu was doing his work…..a perfect mimic of the cosmic illusion.

The other laborers did saw him passing nearby them, they too knew he was not among them but couldn't collect enough courage to stop him. In a flash, Vasu escaped their sight and entered a half-constructed cabin. "Why I am here, what made me enter a place which I don't know." Scratching his head many times, Vasu looked here and there and opened a drawer on a shelf.

Out came a  mobile phone as if it was inviting Vasu. He was guided to the mobile phone so that he can contact his family members. Vasu picked up the mobile phone and put it in his pocket, waiting for a while ... "No, it's not fair, it's a crime, I cannot steal, my conscience do not allow me to do this." Once again a big blow to Vasu's luck. He gently put the mobile in the same place and left the place. His common sense didn't afford him that much sense that he could call somebody before he left the mobile phone.
