He was unsurprised that Edgar suggested he take his wife for a ride. After all, he believed everybody would be expecting that from him.
It would be more odd if he did not behave like the doting husband. However, he was unsure if she would act her part as the loving wife after his confession last night.
"Don't worry, Oliver will be riding with Edgar. He would only walk him around the pen until Oliver and the horse get more acquainted and comfortable with each other." Damon described in detail what their son would be doing to reassure her that nothing terrible would happen to him.
"He is perfectly safe with me." Edgar seconded his claim, assuring her that no harm would come to their son.
"Please, Mom, you promise you will let me try." Then, his son's squeaky pleading voice echoed in the small enclosed structure.
