CHAPTER 10

Maezhei could never had imagined that the white tiger she just saved, would turn out to be the Deguzs most treasured and dangerous possession. This white tiger was kept by Zake in Seed Island. It is a private island that was surrounded by a big dense forest where white tigers often roamed around by themselves.

The white tiger's name was Snowy because of its soft snowy-like fur. He's the youngest white tiger in the Seed Island that's why they also nicknamed him as Little White Tiger.

Maezhei looked at the ice statue that was standing near her but regretted it right after she saw that he's staring at her intently.

She was uncomfortable with the way he stare at her so, she shifted her gaze to the door but her cat-like eyes suddenly widen when she saw the white tiger who had its snow-white fur slowly entering the room.

"Oh my god!" she squealed. "Great Whiteee!!" she said excitedly and was about to run into the white tiger but a strong arm stopped her.

"You're not yet well," he darkly said the his gaze shifted to her hand where an IV was attached to the back of her hand. She then realized that her right shoulder was also bandaged...

Maezhei pouted. She really wants to touch and hold the tiger to feel his soft white fur. She also wanted to touch his pangs.

Seeing her expression, Zake sighed and went to Snowy and guided him to where Maezhei was.

Maezhei's lips rose up.

When the white tiger went closer to her, she extended her hands immediately and touched the tiger's soft white fur. She felt happy and... relieved. "Thank goodness you're not hurt," she whispered but Zake heard her.

Zake carefully sized up the woman on the hospital bed, scrutinizing her expression to see if it was real or fake.

After a long while, he then spoke up coolly, "State your request."

Maezhei glanced at him.

"Uh... what request?" Maezhei did not understand at all what he meant by those three words.

"My brother wants to thank you for saving Snowy, so he's asking if you have any requests." Zifan intervened when he saw her confused expression.

Maezhei's brain started to turn as she said cautiously, "You don't need to thank me. I saved Great Whi-- I mean Snowy on my own without thinking of any reward."

Although she had indeed saved Great White-- I mean Snowy, how could she dare ask for a reward? She believed that the more money one had, the more likely they would become deluded into thinking others were out to get them. Furthermore, this was the super rich, top-class elite Deguzs family they were talking about. The wealthiest and most prominent family in the whole City A! The number one family in the country!

She doesn't want them to suspect her of anything. Or think of her as a greedy person.

Didn't you see how warily Zake's had been looking at her just now? He was looking at her suspiciously!

So, to avoid future problems, it was best to end all relations with them here.

Or maybe they can give Snowy to me as a reward? That would be great! - she smiled at that idea.

Maezhei thought her reply was faultless, but Zake still looked dissatisfied causing her to feel uneasiness in her heart.

Did I say something wrong? Why was his expression so scary? - she asked herself.

"Big bro, don't put on such a scary expression! If I didn't know you were trying to repay her kindness, I would have thought you were here for revenge!" Zifan stepped forward when she saw the fright on Maezhei's face.

He then turned to Maezhei and said, "I'm sorry. My brother doesn't like to owe others so, please, just request something! No need to be polite!"

Maezhei was astonished. There were actually people who would force requests out to others?

The corner of her mouth twitched, "It's not that I am being polite. It's not really necessary to repay me. I did what a normal citizen would do."

"Saving a beast, yeah, a normal citizen would do." Zifan murmured.

"Besides you treated my wounds, so we can be considered even." she continued.

"Just ask for something." Zifan whispered at her.

This rich people are stressing me out! Seriously, I wanna go home already! Kath is probably worried about me right now!

In the end Maezhei had no other choice "Okay then, how about you give me... money?"

Honestly, she really doesn't have anything to request not because she has everything but because her instincts told her. And besides she remembered Snowy to her Great White, her white tiger she took care for almost three years when she was still abroad. But sadly, her Great White gone missing.

Ugh. She remembered that incident again!

And besides, rich people like to resolve debts in this simple and straightforward manner, right? So, to end this, she asked money.

Just as Maezhei was assured that this was the most appropriate request, she saw that Zake's expression turned even uglier.

Maezhei was on the verge of tears. Why did he have to be so difficult? Even just a simple "Thank you" is enough for me. No need for a reward!

Zifan rubbed his nose then explain, "My brother thinks that just giving you money would be too insulting."

Maezhei was howling in her heart. Then insult me!! Just insult me, please!!!

And why is this ice statue so quiet? He's being difficult! If he have something to say, just say it! Would speaking a few more words kill him?

"Then what do you want me to request?" she asked desperately.

She really could not think of an appropriate request at the moment. So, why don't he just say what he wants, right?

"How about... you marry me." Zake said seriously.

"Alright----" Maezhei was about to agree to what he said but when she realized what it was, she looked at him in disbelief.

She froze for a whole minute then she began coughing heavily, almost choking herself to death at her own saliva.

"What... What did you just say?" she asked bewildered.
