Just watch

Ashur soon finished draining the blood of the rabbit and cleaning it in a small stream not far from them, which Ashur also used to clean off some of the dried blood on him and his clothes, he started walking back to where Riveria was.

Ashur came back to where Riveria was and discovered that Riveria had found some berries for them to eat while he was gone.

Riveria was naturally excited to show him what she had found, but when she approached him, she suddenly spotted him holding something.

"What is that?" she asked while pointing to the skinned rabbit Ashur was holding.

"Rabbit, our dinner" replied Ashur as he set it down on a relatively clean place.

"Our dinner?" Riveria asked, she looked at the disgusting thing, could it even be eaten?

The only food she ate was either fruits or vegetables, and sometimes some meat dishes, but all of the meat dishes she had seen were cooked, and she had never seen where they had come from.

"Are we really going to eat, that?" she asked, she felt like vomiting just by looking at it.

"Yeah, but we got to cook it first," said Ashur as he gathered some firewood.

After he finished gathering the firewood, Riveria asked " How are you going to make a fire, do you know fire magic?"

"No, just watch," said Ashur as he picked up a straight stick and started rolling it between his hands rapidly over some dry grass he found.

Quickly to Riveria's amazement, Smoke started to come from the dry grass before it quickly ignited.

"How did you do that?" she asked in amazement.

Ashur started a fire with no flint or fire magic or even fire magic stones, this was completely new to her.

"Yeah Master, where did you learn how to do that?" asked Ene as she also watched him.

"Just something I know, when you take regular camping trips with nothing but a knife, you got to know how to do things like this," said Ashur as he started piling on some small sticks onto the fire.

'Camping with just a knife?'

As they both heard this, Ene and Riveria both wondered how his life was before they met him.

Ashur had to credit his survival skills to his mentor from his life when he was Ash.

When he was young, his father's best hitman and also his mentor would take him camping with just a knife and nothing else.

His name was John, and he was like a second father to him.

He would be there when his father would not be and taught him all his skills, such as marksmanship, martial arts, how to use a knife, survival skills, and those were just a few of the skills he taught him.

When he was small, John was his idol, and he wanted to be just like him, and that's why his father asked John to teach him a few things.

And one of those things was john taking him out camping every month or two with nothing but a knife and the clothes on their backs.

Of course, it was rough at the beginning as he was just a clueless kid back then, and he didn't really know how to make a fire or hunt for food, but John took his time, and slowly started explaining how to do things, but it was hard at first, and John had to help him out a lot in the beginning.

But as time went on, he started to do things on his own and even started hunting his own food, among the many other things he learned camping with john. And there was even one time they went camping that they came across a starving grizzly bear that was going to attack them. But he would never forget watching John quickly kill the bear with nothing but a knife and with one stab to the throat, which made it start flailing around before quickly falling over and dying.

This did not mean that John came out unscathed though, and he suffered a pretty nasty scratch on his arm.

But he knew John could of probably not gotten such an injury if John wasn't protecting him, and felt bad at the fact. But John never resented him for anything.

Sadly, John retired shortly after, of which Ashur did not know the details of how, and why.

With John retired, there were not many hitmen that could match up to John's skills, and the next best was him.

He wasn't really a hitman, but more of just a fighter for the mob if they had a difficult situation, and there were also other hitmen to do those types of jobs.

He had to admit though if John never left, John might not be the one holding the title of best marksman, as Ash or Ashur, was really gifted with guns.

----

The fire was already going well as Ashur had pieces of rabbit roasting by the fire.

Surprisingly to Ashur, there were plenty of wild spices around them, which he used to season the rabbit before roasting it.

Ashur and Riveria were munching on some of the berries that Riveria found while they were waiting for the rabbit to cook.

At first, Riveria thought the rabbit was disgusting, but when she smelled the rabbit's fragrant smell as it cooked, she started to get really hungry.

Soon, the rabbit finished cooking and Ashur slowly removed it from the fire onto a clean flat rock that he found in a river not far from them.

After waiting for it to cool down a bit, Ashur picked up a stick that the rabbit was roasted on, and passed it to Riveria, before he grabbed his own and started eating.

Riveria watched Ashur start eating with a smile on his face and decided to take a small bite and try it.

And as soon as Riveria finished taking a bite, her eyes widened as what she just tasted was really good!

As Ashur ate, he noticed that the rabbit he ate tasted way better than the rabbit he had eaten on earth, and he had a few ideas why.

First of all, there was no pollution here and there was something that earth did not have, and that was mana.

The rabbit itself was probably rich in mana, and there were various plants it could have snacked on that were also rich in mana, which made them taste better than what it was on earth.

"Not fair Master! looking at you both eating is torture! I can smell how good it is, but I can't eat any!" shouted Ene in protest.

"Wait smell?" Ashur suddenly asked. He was confused, as can how she could smell inside a phone?

"I don't know why Master, but there is a small sensor built inside this phone which I can smell everything! This is torture!" said Ene as she looked at the food in his hand.

Ashur looked at her embarrassingly and said, "I'm sorry Ene, but there is nothing I can do about that."

He wondered why his phone would have something like that, maybe it's a phone model from a future earth?

Ashur would not put it past him, as the chat room and system are very mysterious to him.

Ignoring Ene's pouting face, which he found very cute, he started eating again but noticed that Rivera was almost done with her own food, but he was pretty much just starting.

"Is it good?" asked Ashur as he looked at Riveria rapidly chowing down on the rabbit.

"Mhm" replied Riveria with a stuffed mouth, before she suddenly got embarrassed at how unladylike she was and stopped stuffing her mouth and slowed down eating.

"I'm glad you like it," he said, as he started eating his own food.

Besides her childhood friend and personal chamberlain Aina, this was the first time in Riveria's life that she could just be herself with someone, instead of having to act prim and proper like a princess.

Riveria soon finished her food and was licking the oils on her fingers from the rabbit that got on her hands while eating, while Ashur was more than half finished of his.

As Ashur was eating, his happy face suddenly froze and he quickly dodged to the side, narrowly missing an arrow that was coming towards his head.

Ashur quickly pulled out his sword and quickly deflected another arrow that was aiming for his head.

"Get behind me!" shouted Ashur in a stern and authoritative tone.

Riveria did just that and quickly ran over behind Ashur.

The arrows seemingly stopped, but Ashur still had his guard high as he scanned around the forest.

The bushes, the top of trees, the base of the trees, everywhere Ashur could think of, Ashur looked around vigilantly.
