She exhaled sharply as she looked at Rex wondering if he was trying to make fun of her. However, after observing him for a moment, she didn't think that was the truth.

There was a long silence between them before she turned to look at Rex again and said

"I hope Your Highness would refuse to marry me."

The smile on Rex's lips disappeared when he heard that.

"Why is that if I may ask Lady Alexandria?"

Alexandria stared at him a moment longer when she heard him calling her name. For some strange reason, she liked the way he called her.

Alexandria looked away a moment later. She needed a calm mind to answer the question. As much as she wanted to be honest, she knew that he was a prince so she couldn't hurt his ego by rejecting him outrightly. So she said politely

"Your Highness, I don't want to marry a man who would have any other woman except me. I can't be like a virtuous woman that Your Highness needs so it is better for both of us not to go ahead with this proposal."
