“I’ll let you know but I think I’m partied out.” Cam looked at him.

Pauly just nodded. He looked at Cam. She looked tired. He hoped this wouldn’t have to go on too much longer.

“You gonna be alright with this?” he asked. Maggie had expressed concern to him that perhaps Cam had become too close to some of the people that were going to be hurt by this. It wasn’t uncommon for someone to start to identify with their targets. It was one of the most prevalent reasons for pulling agents off cases.

Cam sighed. “I’ll deal with it.” She looked Pauly in the eye. “I’m still focused.”

Pauly nodded. Cam seemed alright to him. “Do you need anything?” he asked.

Cam smiled. “I was going to ask for some pocket money but there doesn’t seem to be a good game in town lately.”

“That’s good,” Pauly acknowledged. “All play and no work can give you a very dull head.”

Cam laughed. “I tell you, I’m alright.”

“I know you are. I just worry. So does Maggie.”
