✒ Chapter 53 : Warm as the sun, Cold as ice

Sleeping on the couch, Khein looked thinner and tired. He had completely stopped going to school in order to look after and to take care of Rei.

"Kheiny" Rei's voice woke Khein up late at night. Alert, Khein despite being tired and sleepy went to Rei's side. He smiled at him and asked what he wanted.

"I want to release" Rei said while making a shy look, he was blushing. Khein nodded and prepared the container used for urination. Rei pouted and looked at Khein shyly.

"That's not what I mean" Rei mumbled. Khein blushed as he realized what Rei wanted from him. Khein knew it would be risky and Rei might get hurt and exhausted if they do it.

"But baby, we can't do it. You'll get hurt" Khein tried to control himself. His lover was asking for his body, he would be willing to give it to Rei no matter how many times the guy would demand for it, if only it wasn't for his ill condition.

"Try to think of another way so I can release, please Kheiny." Rei looked desperate. In Khein's eyes, he still looked the same as the smiley and sexy Rei. Khein gulped and felt a bit awkward. He thought there was nothing to be ashamed of in front of Rei with times like this. He thought he could already do all the shameful things in front of Rei. He secured to lock the door as he looked at Rei again.

"Tell me what to do then, I won't do it alone, it's too embarrasing" Khein said while trying to hide his face behind his arm. Rei gulped and said bravely, "Strip"

Khein gasped silently and did as he was told. Rei made him do embarrasing things such as doing himself in front of his lover, or making lewd moans to please Rei. Khein cried in the end, he was naked on the bed of Rei.

"I can't believe I'm doing this for you. I... I can't believe I fell inlove with you. I can't believe that I would never be able to spend the rest of my life with you any longer." Khein sighed, depressed. He burried his face on Rei's chest and asked, "Can you not stay with me until we get older?"

"Kheiny, please don't cry" Rei begged. He didn't want to see his puppy crying because of him again.

"You promised that you would take me anywhere I wanted to go. You said you would make me the happiest person in my lifetime. But why did you suddenly planned to leave me behind?" Khein sobbed.

"Baby, I can't live without you. I can't go on like this. Can I just go with you?" Khein asked out of the sudden. Rei's eyes widened upon hearing the last sentence.

"Kheiny, don't you dare try to do anything funny. Don't be stupid and a coward, I will probably hate you if you plan to do what I hate." Rei warned. He too cried as he stared at the naked Khein beside him.

"Rei, have you heard it from Ethan and Center?" Khein spoke, his face still burried on Rei's chest.

"They planned to get married in the future. I too want to marry you." Khein said while crying.

"Buy me a ring" Khein said desperately. For Rei, how beautiful it would be, Khein was asking for him to get married. If he was healthy and well, his puppy didn't need to go that far, he would probably be the one proposing. But Rei knew it from the start, if he would ask Khein to marry him immediately, he might ruin Khein's future for binding the rebel guy to him. He had long planned of proposing a marriage to Khein, if it wasn't for his illness.

"We can't" Rei refuse.

"Why? Don't you love me?" Khein cried again.

"We'd better not, Kheiny. Save your marriage for someone who can spend the rest of his life with you." Rei said.

"You can't refuse me. Or else, I'll do the thing that you feared the most" Khein warned. Rei gulped and chuckled softly.

"Kheiny, I can't believe that we are still together until now. I think I'm still dreaming that you are here with me every second. I'm sorry that sometimes I forget." Rei bowed his head, he bit his bottom lip and smiled at Khein.

"I'll give you the ring tommorrow" Rei promised. Khein was beyond cloud nine upon hearing Rei's promise.

"Kheiny, I'm horny" Rei hissed. Khein gasped as he realized that the both of them didn't get to finish. He took care of Rei and made his partner felt the pleasure even using just his hand.

"Sleep beside me, Kheiny" Rei demanded and kissed Khein on the forehead.

"Yeah sure" the rebel guy replied. It felt warm and comfortable with Khein sleeping beside Rei. He wished he could cuddle with Rei but he knew that his partner's fragile body would have a hard time moving too much.

"Good night, Kheiny" Rei said and stared at Khein. The rebel guy returned his smile with a passionate kiss and whispered against their mouths, "I love you Rei"

Rei smiled and closed his eyes, feeling Khein's warmth next to him.

As the night went deep, the world that Khein knew seemed to be a bit quieter and peaceful. He felt cold and warm at the same time.

The clock ticked at 02:07 in the morning, Khein felt colder as he hugged Rei. His heart raced faster as he suddenly gasped. He wanted to go back to sleep and didn't mind what he was imagining. He dared not to look at the face of the guy next to him as he burried his face and snuggled unto Rei's cold body. Before he knew it, Khein already cried. It was as if the whole world stopped, he covered his mouth, stopping the screams he wanted to let out.

"You still need to give me the ring" Khein whispered as he kissed Rei's dried yet cold lips.
