Chapter 11 Into The Lion’s Den Part 8

As Jake laid bleeding on the ground he could feel his life slipping away, he knew he was dying he knew the wound on his chest was no mere flesh wound it was no papercut it was a slash an aggressive slash filled with every intent on killing the boy, Jake could feel it because of his body going into shock after being attacked Jake had let go of the darkness emitting katana named Tsubaki he didn't mean to but he couldn't help it. As the sword left his grasp the shadow that Jake used to make Judas Sullivan sink and lose his balance started to disappear, the large man made his why back to his feet he moved slow and deliberate even though his life wasn't any danger, he was still banged up not as much as Jake but still his injuries were no laughing matter.

Unlike his opponent Jake couldn't get back his feet, he couldn't move a single inch all that he could move were his eyes his eyes were moving a mile a minute they wandered back in forth back in forth darting all around never focusing on any target until his eyes landed on Tone Roach Porcha and Coco running away, he saw that they had everything they came for and were running for dear life they had everything they came for but they were leaving him. Jake wanted to call out to them but he couldn't… he couldn't figure out how to get his mouth to move he seemed to forget how to put words together, but somewhere deep inside jake's subconscious he knew even if he could speak even if he could shout to the heavens above somewhere in his heart jake knew, if he called out for them to comeback they wouldn't and he knew if their positions were switched he wouldn't either, but still he wanted to be saved he pleaded out to the four even though he couldn't speak

"Comeback"

He thought.

"Please comeback I… I… I don't want to die I'm not ready to die."

Tears fell from his face as he watched his only saving grace run away, eventually even their image was lost to him as Judas obstructed his view Jake couldn't help but focus on the man, to be honest he was so large that he was the only thing to focus on from his current viewpoint Judas seemed even larger than before, he saw Judas sword and for the first time he got a good look at it. Beowulf was a long sword it looked straight out of a fantasy movie its hilt was aligned with gold and silver, for the first time jake was captivated by the sword's beauty Judas took that beautiful sword and touched jakes neck and feeling the cold blade on his neck Jake's eyes went wide as he started to panic.

"You… you were aiming to behead me, weren't you?"

Judas asked, still resting Beowulf's blade on Jake's neck the boy couldn't answer but he knew that Judas knew his intentions.

"Yeah, you were trying to behead me I despise you little insect, but I can't deny it I respect you; you were willing to follow through on killing me, I could see it there was no hesitation in your eyes and I would be lying if I said I didn't respect that so with that respect of mine."

Judas pulled his sword off jakes neck lifting it up high with both of his hands.

"I will do unto you, as you attempted to do unto me."

Jake's eyes were filled with absolute terror, he wanted to move but he simply couldn't.

"Is... is this how I die?"

He thought, and almost like he was reading his mind Judas answered him.

"Yes, this is how you die, but take solace that you were slain as warrior."

At that judas brought the sword down Jake's life didn't flash before his eyes not this time, all he saw was Judas's blade being swung down with force, all Jake could see was the instrument of his death and all he could do was prepare for his oncoming death, but as Beowulf's blade nearly a second from detaching Jake's head from his body both Jake and Judas heard a loud scream.

"Hold your blade nephew!"

The loud scream wasn't a scream, but a shout and that shout was a command and with that command Judas listened, he stopped instantly as if he was frozen in time, the force of him stopping cracked the ground around him.

"Yes, yes hold your blade!"

Judas the large man stood in an upright position then sheathed Beowulf, it was only then that Jake started gasping for air he didn't even notice that he had been holding his breath, he took loud desperate breaths as Judas looked down at him then he looked in the direction of where the command had come from. Jake could see now that the helicopters that had appeared out of nowhere were now landing in the courtyard, he could see many people exiting the helicopter many of them were wearing formal military attire and those who weren't were just wearing formal wear, Jake saw a whole mix of people men women children, before him exiting the helicopters was the Sullivan family but one of them in that moment stuck out to Jake it was a older middle aged man with a thin mustache a beard with slicked back black hair and he was laughing and clapping.

"Bravo nephew"

He said stepping closer to Jake and Judas

"Bravo!!Bravo!! bravissimo!!"

He kept clapping giving the large man Judas a standing ovation, but he was the only one the other Sullivan's either ignored or seemed uninterested in the man's etiquette, even Judas seemed bored but none of them stopped the man.

"What a display, what a glorious display good for you nephew!"

The man said has he approached Judas patting him on the back.

"The first person to battle Tsubaki in the past 100 years good for you nephew, good for you don't you feel all special."

He said those word with a beaming smile on his face, but Judas was unfazed by his look, or his complements Judas gently but forcefully removed the man's hand from his back.

"I'm feeling more annoyed than special right now uncle, why did you stop me from executing this thief."

The older man chuckled not the least fazed by Judas clear annoyance he knelt down gazing at the boy laying on the ground.

"I just thought it be a shame to just throw away such an interesting trinket don't you agree."

Before Judas could protest a loud crashing sound was heard when they, turned they saw a small crater and within that crater was a woman, it was Gilda she was in rough shape half her face was frozen and she was missing her left arm both her legs were frozen solid and one of them was crumbling a part, she was near death but she still held tightly to that sword that machete she laid there in the small crater catching her breath, seeing this the older man got back on his feet chuckling.

"Well, what took you so long Nefertari"

For the first time in a while Nefertari Sullivan had reappeared, and unlike his cousin Judas he wasn't seriously damaged, he had just a few scratches but besides them he was still in tip top shape.

"Sorry uncle"

He said rubbing his head.

"I was just playing around with her then I got bored and decided to wrap it up fast, just give me a moment I'll kill her quick."

But Nefertari had miscalculated he had beaten the woman senseless that much was evident, but he hadn't beaten down her spirit Gilda still had some fight in her she refused to die as she held on to the machete, a new left arm started growing and new legs started to replace the frozen ones when she was nearly recovered Gilda managed to get back on her feet, the sight of her snapping back made Nefertari roll his eyes as the mad woman got back on her feet ready to resume the battle her eyes landed on the middle age man with the slicked back hair. For a moment for a brief moment, she froze but it wasn't because of the harpoon wielders doing it, was because of the man she saw in front of her she froze out of shock, but that shock soon be melted away the sight of the man began to bubble up rage within Gilda, even more rage than she had before with contempt in her eyes and burning hatred in her heart she screeched the man's name.

"Nolan!!"

He looked at her as if he was just seeing an old friend and simply said.

"Oh Gilda, is that you?"
