Gracie borrowed the office car to meet the mysterious caller she didn't know at all. Because she didn't want to take the risk that the man would come to her office and pick her up, she finally chose to come to the restaurant that had been promised.
Her mind kept thinking, who was calling her with the private number? Even if she didn't have an answer, she still wondered.
Gracie didn't know what table to sit at, but she chose near the entrance to see who would come to see her. Her heart was even pounding because there was a feeling of fear of meeting strangers.
"Did you wait long, Gracie?'' Suddenly a man appeared. Justin.
Gracie widened her eyes. Her lips parted slightly, and she too finally stood up from the shock. "You! Again?!" she screamed.
Justin casually sat right in front of Gracie who was still standing. He unbuttoned his suit and smiled. "Please, have a seat. I want to get to know you better."
"Who are you to dare order me? We don't even know each other!"
"You said that if someone knows your name and address, then you will deal with that person. Well, you'll deal with me then, Gracie."
There was nothing wrong with Justin's words. And inevitably, she dropped her ass with a face that looked very annoyed. Even when the waiter came to hand over the menu book, her face still had a sullen expression.
Gracie still didn't speak even when Justin's order was made unilaterally. Because he had expected Gracie's reaction, Justin ordered a set menu for two.
"Well, I'll get to it then," said Justin, "I'd like to make you an offer."
Gracie's eyebrow lifted, glancing up at him. "What offer?"
"Be my girlfriend. We will both heal each other."
And for what reason, suddenly Gracie laughed. She covered her lips so that the shape of her lips when laughing was not seen by Justin. "Are you kidding me? You're asking me to be your girlfriend? Well, we don't love each other. We're just both hurting by people we love. That's all we have in common, Justin!"
Sighing, Justin nodded. "I know. I think our meeting was also due to a purpose created by the universe."
Gracie held the bridge of her nose. She didn't know what happened to her a few days ago until she found a strange man like this. Even offered to be his girlfriend when they didn't know each other.
"You always talk about the universe. Are you that obsessed with the universe you always mention?" asked Gracie, nonchalantly.
Justin leaned closer to Gracie even though he was limited by the table between them. He stared deeper into Gracie's eyes, wondering if the girl in front of him was interested in him or not. Or at least, approaching attraction, remembering well–that they'd only known each other for a day.
"Well, I believe in things that happen on purpose, Gracie. Because I know, there must be a cause for an incident that has happened."
Gracie swallowed hard. She then breathed a sigh of relief because at least the arrival of the food that had been served made her unable to reply to Justin's words. She was too nervous to reply because, in her mind, there were no plans for her future after she broke up with Troy.
She was still heartbroken. And the cause of her broken heart she still remembered clearly in her head. It was a hard thing for Gracie to try to get rid of. Especially with Justin offering to be his girlfriend? Would that make it easier for Gracie to forget Troy right away? Certainly not.
"You can't just keep living in the past, right?" he asked.
"That is none of your business." And Gracie was still indifferent to him. She refused to share what she thought. Because Justin was a man, and she doubted she would believe him.
He smiled. He picked up his food and chewed it while looking at Gracie. He knew that the girl in front of him would not be easily defeated. Because he also knew, when a girl really loves her boyfriend and then breaks up, it will be difficult for the girl to open her heart in a short time.
"What if I make you fall in love?"
"You can't."
"Why are you stubborn when you haven't even tried? Are you afraid that you will fall in love with me, Gracie?
Stop, she thought. Stop calling me that way.
She shook her head. Never once would she show her weakness to Justin. Because she believed, a man who likes to spit sweet words is a man who likes to play with girls. Because she kept equating Troy with that attitude until he cheated on her.
Suddenly Justin took out a piece of paper with a transparent plastic folder wrapped around it. He handed it to Gracie, on which was written a title that astonished Gracie.
AGREEMENT IF I HURT YOU.
"What the hell is that?!" she asked.
"You can take it and read it. If you agree, then you can sign it and call me at the number listed there," said Justin.
But Gracie returned the paper. She chuckled with her head shaking. "You don't have to do this to convince me. Because I don't like promises. I don't believe in promises."
Her tone was so firm when she said it, making Justin a little surprised that there are girls who don't like promises.
"Well, then what do you like, Gracie?" asked Justin looking seductive.
"There isn't any. For now, I don't like anything."
Gracie kept making excuses for the man in front of her to stop. But Justin was also not stupid because he knew how the character of most girls.
"Then don't refuse when I keep trying to get close to you, Gracie."
Gracie shrugged. She stood up, feeling that her conversation with Justin had nothing more important. But Justin stopped her by holding her hand. They then looked at each other. "Gracie, one day you will accept me as your boyfriend. In the near future."
