Chapter 28

"Boss aren't we doing things a bit too fast?", Eldest Lackey asked with a resigned look on his face.

"Speak less, you'll have all the rest you want after we are done with this one."

Placing the jet black armour on his body, William picked up the dark blue coloured blade and strapped it around his waist.

"You could have atleast waited till the gods came up with a name for you...", God Soma said while making sure he didn't miss any valuable he might need behind.

"I fail to understand how that's my problem."

Placing his hand on the sky wyvern, William felt it's rough and sturdy skin.

*Cawk*

".....Boss will just the eight of us be enough?", Eldest Lackey asked with a doubtful voice.

William, Haruhime, Lackey Trio, God Soma, Lily, Emile.

The original members, pillars of Soma familia, whatever you want to call them.

Seeing all of them together after a long time couldn't help but warm Eldest Lackey's heart.

"l will be the one to sit behind Captain."

"You wanna die b*tch?"

"I dare you to say that again!"

Ah the good old days.

Eldest Lackey almost shed a tear seeing Haruhine and Emile pointing swords at each other's throats.

"Stop messing around, there is one wyvern for everyone.", God Soma interjected making Haruhime and Emile back down although unwillingly.

Having taken care of the troublesome children, God Soma quitly went upto William's wyvern and raised his hand.

".....What?", William asked seeing God Soma's action.

"I don't know how to ride a wyvern.", God Soma said with a straight face.

"You're point?"

"Let me ride with you."

"...."

"Really I might fall off otherwise."

"Why not ride with someone else?"

"I feel safer with you."

"..."

William tilted his head in confusion for a moment before grabbing God Soma's arms and placing him on top of the wyvern.

On the sideline Haruhine and Emile kept staring at God Soma with a dumbfounded expression on their faces.

This also works?

Aren't you just abusing you're authority?

Also you're a man! Don't you feel embarrassed? Have some shame!

---------------

"Then let us depart"

Leaving behind those short words, William controlled his wyvern to fly up high in the sky followed others.

"They didn't take me.....", Goddess Artemis complained with a sad tone.

"Goddess they aren't going to a field trip....."

You're complaining they didn't take you?

Seriously?

It's the One-Eyed-Black-Dragon they are going after, the strongest of the three calamities.

I mean what will you even do by going with them?

Not like you're any usefull in combat.....

"I understand, I understand so stop looking at me with those eyes!"

-------------------------------

"Do you have a plan in mind William?", God Soma asked in a serious tone.

"I will face it alone and kill it.", William replied in a neutral tone.

God Soma shut his mouth for a moment before saying.

"Aren't you being overconfident?"

"I'm not."

"What if you fail?"

"I will not."

"Then let's pretend for a moment that you do fail, what will you do then?"

"Even if I couldn't kill, I atleast have confidence in getting away."

"....."

"That's why I will face it alone."

God Soma didn't say anything else, infact knowing William's current strength even he find it hard to imagine how William can loose against OEBD.

Although God Soma himself has never seen the monster's power, but he know for sure that William was already stronger than most gods.

The power strong enough to change the direction of the world.

That was his child William Greenleaf.

God Soma's eyes shone with brilliance.

It was a wonderful feeling, being the God of such an excellent child.

Then a sudden thought hit God Soma.

"What if the Loki familia did something behind our back?"

"They won't."

God Soma raised his eyebrow at William's fast reply.

"I made sure they won't.", William said as a matter of course.

----------------------

Flying through the lands at extraordinary pace, Soma familia passed several mountains and forests before reaching the end of land, now the unknown sea layed ahead of them with no sign of their destination in sight. They took six days to reach the ocean, but now the journey ahead cannot be done on wyvern alone.

They needed a boat, a ship to be exact.

It wasn't hard to get one, using the Soma familia's name and a chest full of coins they brought with them, in no time they managed to hire a experienced crew and sailed without any delay.

If it was a normal familia then they might have decided to rest for a few days before advancing,. ut this was the Soma familia, everyone here has an inhuman level of will power, the only thing which could stop them from achieving their target was death.

But with God Soma, even death was unable to stop them.

"Is there a piece of land in that direction?", William asked the ship captain while pointing at the direction of the compass.

Holding his chin, the middle aged tanned man fell into thought for a moment before saying.

"No land, but that area is a no ship zone.", The captain said with a grave expression on his face.

"Why is that?"

"Tornadoes! big enough to swallow five of our ships in one go!", The middle aged captain couldn't help but tremble as if recalling a terrible memory.

"You aren't thinking of going there are you? Crazy! You'll all die! swallowed by the ocean!"

The Captain suddenly looked at William with vigilance in his eyes.

"No we won't it's just in the same direction."

The Captain looked at William with vigilant eyes, but seeing no change in his expression, the captain relaxed a little.

Atleast it didn't look like the young man was crazy.

And the pay was really too good.....

Forget driving ships he could buy his own shipyard with that kind of money.

In the end the power of money managed to overcome the captain's fear of death.

And so the Soma familia's ship set sail towards the no man's land.

Some days later.

"Y-You're crazy young man!", The Ship captain shouted at the top of his lungs while pointing at the massive tornadoes covering their path forward.

"S-stop! W-we'll all die at this rate!", The ship captain tried to convince William but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

In just a couple of days, William and his familia members have already learned how to handle a ship, atleast keeping it moving in a straight direction was not a problem.

"Full speed ahead."

"Got it Boss!", With a giant smile on his face Eldest Lackey pulled the rope which would have usually taken 5 people to handle.

The wooden ship swayed with the waves, while the heavy rain drenched them, and the massive tornados, their destination which looked like a dead end.

It was a scene right out of any sailor's worst nightmares.

"Y-you maniacs!"

"Shut up."

"What---!"

*Clank*

Before the middle aged ex ship captain could react, Haruhime appeared behind him, grabbed his collar and easily threw him inside the captain's room and locking the door before coming behind William and placing her arms around his neck.

"I think I remember telling you to take care of the left flank.", William said while positioning the helm in the correct direction.

"Lily is handling it captain.", Haruhime pressed her wet lips against Williams ears and whispered.

"Lily?"

William quickly turned his head towards the left side hitting Haruhime's nose in the process making her dizzy.

Unexpectedly Lily was actually managing to hold her own instead of rolling around the ship like a log.

"She's a level 3 now captain, you don't have to worry about her."

As if unwilling to give up, Haruhime once again tightly held William's waist from behind, trying to take full advantage of the situation.

"She's still weak.", William commented before staring straight at the massive natural disasters.

"Take the helm", William grabbed Haruhime's hand and made her control the ship under her unwilling gaze.

Then with a light push, William's figure soared through the sky heading straight for the tornadoes, his figure looked tiny in comparison to the natural disaster., too small to even notice.

"When I achieved the peak of my path."

William drew his sword making the sea tremble.

"The world no longer possessed the power to stop me."

Skill *[Sword Emperor](SS)* is taking effect.

A bright light.

That's what covered Haruhine's vision.

And in the next moment.

It was gone.

The light.

The tornado.

the weather.

The sea suddenly came to a standstill.

The apocalyptic scene from before vanished as if a dream.

Leaving behind a giant island which was covered by the tornadoes before.

'No matter how many times I see it....."

Haruhime felt her heart beat faster.

'It's as unbelievable as always.'

This power which was already on the level of worship, made her tremble every time she saw it.

'My hero...'

She closed her mouth and smiled.

'Is as strong as ever.'

Though it was pity he didn't seem to have any interest in her.

Haruhine's smile turned sad the moment the thought came to her mind.

She has already tried everything, being shy, forceful, arrogant, crying even.....

But he just won't look at her.

'Perhaps I should try begging next?', She thought with a self deprecating smile.

If something like that worked then she would have done it already.

One word.

Forget words, just a gesture.

That's all she ask for and she would willingly present her self to him.

But....

"It's always the same...always.....heuk----", Covering her eyes Haruhime stopped the tears from falling out.

Calm down.

She said to herself.

No matter how much she changed, at the core of it, her heart remained the same for him.

She was willing to wear any mask for him if he wanted to.

Unfortunately.

It seemed no mask of her could catch his attention.

Eldest Lackey who was holding onto the ropes gave Haruhime a sidelong glance before moving his head away and sighing.

From what he had seen, Eldest Lackey could say without a doubt that Haruhine loved William more than anyone else.

No one else could come close even God Soma.

'That's why minotaurs are the best.'

Smooth and tight skin, glossy horns, and those red eyes with zero hesitation.....

Yup minotaurs are the best after all.
