Sitting idly on the boat, the creaking of wood and the rowers' songs did little to lift Watari's mood. The cramped, enclosed cabin only added to the growing sense of restlessness.
He had already replied to all his emails, and for some reason, he didn't feel like watching the downloaded movies on his device. Shifting in his seat, he muttered to himself.
"...I'm bored."
"Would you like to read a book, Master?" offered Mariel, his loyal companion.
"No, I've just been sitting here, staring into nothing. I think I'll head out to the deck for a bit."
"I can accompany you as a guard..."
"No need. Could you stay here and keep an eye on our luggage?"
"Of course. Take your time, Master," Mariel responded with a gentle smile. "Perhaps we can play some cards later."
