Chapter 77: Yuta's Anguish

As the battle between Nanami and the two sisters is happening another fight is about to begin. At Jujutsu High, a curtain suddenly spewed down from the sky. Powerful energy could be felt as Geto walked around trying to find where Yuta was. 

Geto walked around the Jujutsu High checking every corner and bathroom, trying to find Yuta until he entered a courtyard and smacked his lips annoyed before whispering. 

" Where the hell is he?"

Geto stared at the ground annoyed until he heard a set of footsteps approaching his right. He looks to his right before an evil grin appears on his face. Geto stares at Maki approaching him tightly holding onto her spear.

Geto locks eyes with Maki before speaking. 

" I must thank you for coming here. You'll make finding Yuta so much easier for me. "

Maki scoffs before pointing her spear at Geto. Geto starts to slowly walk towards the tip of the spear. Maki watches him approaching her before she speaks.

" You might be able to defeat me if it's one-on-one, but you don't think you can beat me when the others arrive. "

Geto stares at Maki before he playfully speaks, mocking her. 

" Of course I do. I wouldn't be here if I couldn't. But...don't rely on the others, they aren't coming to save you anytime soon. "

Maki stares at Geto confused as a massive grin appears on his face. Hundreds of thoughts ran through Maki's mind trying to understand what Geto meant, until a breeze blew past Maki's face making her eyes widen. 

Before Maki's eyes could react, Geto had moved, standing directly behind her. Geto glanced behind him before speaking. 

" The sunset glows a beautiful orange. The perfect weather to kill Zenin's failure. Don't you think? "

Maki smacks her lips while gripping her spear tightly before spinning it around her neck, powerfully swinging toward Geto. The blade inches closer to Geto's grinning face until he leans back narrowly dodging the swing. Maki yanks her arms to the left swinging again but before the attack could reach. A lightning-fast kick slammed into her jaw. 

Maki stumbled back with her eyes hazy until five cursed leeches spewed out of Geto's robe. Maki watched the leeches fly towards her until she moved her fingers, twirling the spear. The spear effortlessly slices through the leeches. Geto stares through the sliced leeches until he gestures his thumb to the right.

Maki glances to the right before a cursed rhino slams into her side. Maki grits her teeth in pain as the horn of the rhino pierces into her side. She gets dragged by the charging rhino, slamming into a wall. 

The wall starts to crack before it shatters, falling down onto Maki and the rhino. A dust cloud emerges from the falling debris. Geto stares through the dust cloud before an object shifts the dust, flying through it. The object slams into the ground making a loud thud before it slides across the floor.

Geto stared at the object with a disgusted look on his face. It was the rhino's head. Geto wasn't disgusted by the fact that Maki killed his cursed spirit. Instead, he was disgusted by how Maki did it. It reminded him of someone. These thoughts run through Geto's brain until he hears the sounds of footsteps.

Maki's footsteps ripple out as blood gushes down her side. Maki walks out of the dust cloud breathing heavily. Maki had to use all her strength to simply slice off the rhino's head. Geto stares at Maki getting ready to attack until his eyes widen because something has happened to his curtain. A hole has appeared in it. 

The look in Geto's eyes has changed. It went from disgusted to serious. He was done playing with Maki. He knew someone was currently rushing towards him. Geto started to walk towards Maki before speaking. 

" Hey, how do you think Yuta will react? When he sees your mangled body? "...

On the other side of Jujutsu High, the sound of something powerfully crashing through buildings could be heard. Panda's body could be seen sprinting through buildings. Panda was taking the quickest way to Maki. 

Debris wildly flew through the sky as Panda gritted his teeth running through a wooden building. Panda runs through countless buildings until he sees the final wall before he reaches the courtyard. Panda increases his speed as his heart races wildly. Panda reaches the wall in seconds before he violently slams through it creating a massive dust cloud. 

Panda comes to a sliding stop as dust warps around his body. Panda's eyes track through the dust before he sees a grin through the cloud. Panda throws a powerful punch at the grin but his punch misses. The dust cloud is blown away revealing Geto with his head to the left, slipping the punch. 

Panda's eyes dilate as he swipes his paws at Geto, who causally ducks under it before twirling gaining distance away from Panda. As soon as Geto twirls Panda dashes towards Geto latching open his mouth and trying to bite him. Panda is about to bite Geto until his eyes see something. Panda sees a bloody mangled body. The body Panda sees is Maki. Panda stares at the body until a roundhouse kick slams into his chin, contorting his face. 

Panda stumbles back until he grits his teeth angrily and lunges toward Geto. Geto stares at him charging before he speaks. 

" You know, for a cursed doll, you have quite a lot of emotions. But don't worry you're going to join her soon. "

As soon as Geto finishes his sentence several snake-cursed spirits are created around him. The snakes slither through the air quickly approaching Panda until a voice speaks. 

" Stop. "

The snakes halt instantly as Geto glances to his right seeing Inumaki pulling down his green scarf. Geto scoffs before he creates a cursed spirit raven with several eyes. The spirit flies toward Inumaki forcing him to dash back. Inumaki comes to a sliding stop next to Maki's mangled body. 

While Inumaki came to a sliding stop. Panda could be seen throwing a barrage of swipes at Geto who effortlessly sidestepped him until another snake shot out biting onto Panda's shoulder. However, the snake's fangs couldn't pierce Panda's shoulder. Panda's shoulder starts to become muscular until he transforms into his "gorilla mode".

Geto stares at Panda slightly surprised watching him gallop towards him. Geto begins to twitch his fingers as Panda leaps into the air clutching his hands together and throwing a hammer fist toward Geto. Geto dashes back making the hammer fist slam into the ground. The ground shatters causing Geto to lose balance. Geto starts to stumble seeing a chance. Panda lunges forward throwing a punch until a sharp pain ripples through his back.

Panda's eyes become hazy before he glances down seeing a spear pierced through his chest. Panda looks over at Inumaki confused until his eyes widen seeing a bloody Inumaki lying on the ground either dead or unconscious. Panda starts to wobble forward trying not to collapse. Panda takes a few more steps before he begins to collapse to the ground. Geto watches him fall before speaking.

" Did you think I twitched my fingers for nothing? But rest, you have served your purpose. The main event is now here."

The main event Geto was referring to was standing in the massive hole in the wall created by the storming Panda. His cursed energy was overflowing with veins popping out of his forehead. It was no other than Yuta Okkotsu...

As Yuta and Geto's battle is about to begin. Back in Shinjuku. The battle between Nanami, Nanko, and Mimiko has taken a drastic change. Instead of being a 1v2, it's now a huge battle between Geto's group with the exception of Mute and Miguel, and First-grade sorcerers. Yaga, Mei Mei, and Nanami are all currently battling Geto's group.

Nanami could be seen in close combat with Negi. Negi ducks under Nanami's blunt blade before twirling and throwing a kick toward Nanami's side. The kick slams into Nanami's side however, the kick doesn't budge Nanami's. 

Negi smacks his lips before he senses an attack coming using his cursed technique and dashes back dodging a flying crow. Negi takes a deep breath as sweat rolls down his face. Negi glances to his left and sees Nanami and Mimiko getting overwhelmed by a horde of cursed dolls. Negi sees this while he thinks about the Geto's group's two problems.

For first, the only one that can match a first-grade sorcerer in close combat is Negi, everyone else is quickly being pushed back and second, Larue's cursed technique will soon be useless. In an hour, when the sun fully sets. 

Mimiko and Nanako dash back again before a bright yellow light appears in front of them creating a wall that blocks the charging horde of cursed dolls. The cursed dolls pile on top of each other trying to climb over the wall. Larue breathes heavily. He is quickly running out of energy.

While the cursed dolls tried to climb over the wall, the sound of fighting could be heard in front of the wall. Negi and Nanami traded strikes before Negi slid under Nanami's blade. Negi pushed himself off the ground using his left hand, throwing a kick at Nanami's lower jaw. The kick slammed into Nanami's jaw causing him to stumble back. Negi flips onto his feet before his technique senses an attack flying past him. 

Negi watches a crow fly past him at insane speeds. His eyes widen seeing where the crow is flying towards. Negi tried to yell out but it was too late... the crow had already blown a massive hole into Larue's right side. 

Blood gushed out of Larue's missing side as he cried out in pain. The barrier in front of them disappears letting the cursed dolls storm towards them until a picture click is heard and the cursed dolls are erased. Nanako drops to one knee gasping for air. The price of using her cursed technique is severe. Mimiko glances at her sister slightly worried before turning around and running towards the injured Larue. 

Mimiko stared at the bleeding-out Larue until she heard a footstep and a figure lunge toward her. Mimiko grabbed onto her plushie and tried to use her technique but the figure was too fast. The figure went flying past her before a narrow slash appeared on Mimiko making blood spew out.

Mimiko holds onto her side in pain before she glances behind her and sees Kusakabe with his sword above his head and his knees bent. Kusakabe has arrived at Shinjuku. Mimiko looks at Kusakabe annoyed. She glances at the dying Larue and starts to panic until she hears a yell directed towards her. 

" Get your head out of your ass Mimiko and start fighting back. "

Yells out Negi crossing his arms and blocking a kick from Nanami. Negi's shoes skid across the floor from the force of the kick propelling him back. Negi's arms are starting to bruise from Nanami's powerful attacks. Negi's face is covered in sweat until he snaps his head right while leaning his body back. Dodging a lightning-fast crow that grazes Negi's chest. 

Negi stumbles back before he sees Mei Mei leaping into the air swinging her axe down at Negi. Negi quickly dashes back making the axe slam into the ground. Negi comes to a stop before wiping sweat off his forehead.

Mei Mei looks at Negi slightly impressed before she speaks. 

" Looks like someone from Geto's group isn't half bad but surely you know that your fellow members aren't going to last much longer. "

Negi scoffs before shaking his head. The reason Mei Mei is still fighting is because of a new incentive she was promised by Principal Yaga. If she managed to defeat one of Geto's group commanders, she would get her pay tripled. 

However, what Mei Mei said was true. Geto's group was getting pushed back rapidly. The amount of curses is dwindling from other sorcerers exorcising them. Soon there won't be any more curses to keep the other sorcerers busy. 

Will Geto's group be able to survive fighting the first-grade sorcerers or will this be their demise...
