The Battle Completed

The serpent growled angrily at the sight of Marlo and his bright new form. Staring at Marlo was like looking directly into the sun, so much so that when the serpent even glanced at Marlo, it's dark eyes would be burned to a crisp instantly. Marlo clenched his fist, not giving himself the pleasure of looking at his new form. Marlo absorbed most of the light around his body, allowing the serpent to at least look at Marlo and his godly form.

Around Marlo's legs were silver plates of armor, thick, yet smoothed out around the front of the leg. On his fore arms were bladed gauntlets, also silver, yet instead of the smoothness that the leg plates brought, they were jagged and sharp, with a large long, and sharp blades extruding right on top of the plates. As for his torso, a most magnificent and godly set of chest-plate armor seemed to be gently sitting on Marlo's rugged muscles. The front of the divine chest plate was a basic outline of Marlo's muscular physique, with a crown like symbol sitting right in the middle of the chest region. On the back of the chest plate armor two wings shot out, with no sign of feathers, but instead, blinding energy formed into the shape of wings, where even the slightest touch of the energy could burn even the hardest of obsidian and diamond. Lastly was Marlo's head, atop his silver hair was a silver crown. The tips of the crown were also sharp, matching the rest of his armor style, and out of his silver crown was a white deity diamond, the rarest known metal in the universe, maybe even all of existence.

Marlo stepped forward, the hard stone under his feet cracking away and shattering at even the slightest step from Marlo. Rocks from the platform that Marlo stepped on dissolved into thin air after it was crushed by the demolishing and destructive force of this new power that had suddenly emerged from the depths of Marlo's brave, deep and endless soul. When Marlo took another step forward, a sudden outburst of blinding spirit energy consumed everything within a 5 foot radius of Marlo, almost like a force field forming. The serpent chuckled and whipped its massive tail at Marlo, hoping to have an opening to attack, but when the beast struck the aura around Marlo, it's tail dissolved almost immediately after touching it. Even though the beasts scales were over a million times harder than tungsten, the hardest known non-alloy metal in the world, it still vanished away like dust in a mere nanosecond. The serpent screamed in agony and pain as it recoiled it's long and protractive body, uncoiling itself from the platform. As the serpent let itself go from the floating platform, more did the platform crumble away from the sudden sheer force of the quick and extensively powerful abomination. Marlo knew that as the beast was trying to regain its consciousness from losing its tail, it was the perfect time to strike, but he didn't know where. His aura and energy may have explosive power, but he himself wasn't as powerful as the divine plasma. Underneath Marlo's feet the platform gave away more and more, giving Marlo no time to think, only time to act, but in that faint fading glow of hope, a match sparked, and Marlo saw it: the hole underneath the serpents jaw, it's one weakness. Marlo couldn't get an opening though, as the serpents lightning fast thrashing in pain gave no certain sign of an opening. Again, the platform heaved and bent in abnormal ways, taking away Marlo's focus from the serpent and how to strike, back down to the platform, which he knew would finally crack and break open with another step. The serpent roared in unbridled fury then glared with the same anger into Marlo's eyes.

"YOU STUPID SCRAWNY BASTARD!!! YOU AND YOUR BLINDING AURA OF WHICH DESTROYS ME!!! YOU WONT GET AWAY WITH IT! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU!" The serpent lashed at Marlo finally, but stupidly leaving itself open.

The serpent began to have the mental strength of a toddler, with anger like a children's tantrum when the toddler doesn't get its way. And through the midst of this, Marlo then saw it, the opening, but had to move faster then he ever had to before in order to match the serpents speed and power. Marlo calculated what to do, and he came to the simplest of conclusions. He knew the serpents speed, which was not surprisingly currently around Mach 800, and that with the amount of aerodynamic increase the beast gained from the lunge, the serpent surpassed Mach 1000. Marlo knew the serpents power and how much he would have to match it, just to stand against the blow, this part took Marlo the longest, around a duodecillionth of a second, which to Marlo seemed extremely slow. When the calculations were done, the two monsters of power clashed, and Marlo took the chance, and vanished in a blur. The serpent destroyed the platform without leaving anything behind, but surprised itself when it didn't taste Z's blood, but instead, Marlo's. Marlo failed in his chance of striking down the serpent, the beast that had waited tens to thousands of years just for Marlo to arrive and come back. Marlo failed, and that's all that mattered to him now, but right before the serpent snacked on its prey, a surge of unforgettable pain dove into the serpents bloodstream and lower jaw, a pain like a knife cutting easily through flesh and skin, the kind of pain one could never forget even if surgically removed, a pain like death, or moreover this pain was death. Marlo saw Z, who's whole right arm was jammed deep inside of the serpents wound that sat on the bottom of its jaw. Marlo smiled at this sight, knowing that his reckless attack wasn't for nothing, and that he didn't completely fail. Z twisted and spun his arm around inside of the serpents wound, grinding and ripping to filthy bloody shreds the serpents nerves and arteries, killing the beastly abomination and phantom and grim reaper of space and time, killing the very being that guarded a Deity-buster, the very being that almost killed Z's best friend. Using the hand jammed inside of the dying serpent, Z pulled the beast in close so that he could be the last person the serpent would hear.

"Watch what you chew you stupid son of a bitch!"

The serpent screamed in pain and defeat as Z said those words, becoming more like a defeated child. The immaturity of the serpent surprised Marlo, who knew this snake was over 10,000 years old, old enough to be called an ancient, but never a child or newborn. Marlo laughed at this thought, the sight of an ancient being treated like an infant and then acting like one too was all too hilarious for Marlo, who also by this point had lost his form of blinding white, and instead became his normal bartender looking self as before. Z ripped his arm out of the dead serpent and looked around as the place they were just in turned back into the tomb that they first found the serpent at. The serpent crashed onto the rocky floor, which appeared to be untouched. Z took one last look at the serpent, then gargled spit and shot it at the beasts eye, which didn't react or blink in response, giving Z a feeling of relief, but also a feeling of completion. And then, out of the serpents mouth came Marlo, who was covered in the serpents saliva.

"You look great." Z sarcastically scoffed at Marlo, holding out his hand for Marlo to shake.

Marlo chuckled and shook his head, then, grabbed Z's blood soaked and putrid smelling arm, and in unity they shook.

"And you've smelled better you brat!" Marlo laughed in his deep gruff voice.

The two let go of each other and looked around by pure instinct, and they both had noticed the same thing, almost as if their minds and thoughts were connected. The floor which was untouched caught their eyes first. Not even a single scratch could be seen on the tiled ground. Didn't they just fight on the platform that rose from the earth? I wish I could give you a direct answer, but Z figured it out quicker then Marlo could.

"Did we fight in a passage that sits between two dimensions? Is that why the floors look untouched?" Z pointed at the ground with an accusing finger.

"The serpent has the power to do such things, I mean it does guard the legendary Deity-buster of space and time-" Marlo puts a hand on Z's shoulder "-a blade that you're going to wield."

Z didn't take a second for Marlo's words to soak in, and looked at Marlo quickly with almost angry eyes.

"The hell do you mean? YOU'RE the one who became that ultra instinct looking thing or whatever! You deserve the sword!" Z directed his accusation finger to Marlo instead of the ground.

Marlo laughed with pride at the tempting demand from Z, but knows that he can't take someone else's spoils of battle, and pushes Z forward towards the vaulted rock door that was in front of them.

"I may have power to unleash like the Beginning Knight power, but you still in the end, slayed the beast. You will now wield Space and Time." Marlo demanded as he shot a hand forward, shattering the door to the first of the legendary Deity-busters.
