Chapter 5: Arrival

Zhuan wakes up and sits at the bed edge.

Knock! Knock!

"Who's there?

Zhuan inquired.

"It's me, Wong"

The voice said.

"Come in"

Zhuan replied.

Wong came in.

"Speak"

Zhuan inquired.

"There seems to be a base a couple of kilometers to the west near the ice bridge"

Wong said.

Zhuan got up and went to the control room with Wong.

In the satellite view provided by AI, there was a settlement near the ice bridge.

"Berta head to the settlement"

Zhuan said.

[Affirmative]

A few minutes later the mobile fortress stopped in front of the settlement.

Wong, Zhuan, and Qing got out to see three men standing and holding guns pointed in their direction.

"Who are you three and what is this vehicle?

The largest of the three men asked while looking at the muscles of Zhuan and then at the machine gun in the hands of Wong and Qing.

[Detected the presence of a Gifted one approaching at a rapid pace followed by two individuals and a horde of zombies]

Zhuan made a gesture and Wong and Qing turned quickly and aimed south.

The three large men were confused but quickly began to take cover upon seeing three people being chased by a horde of zombies.

"Fire"

Zhuan said as the horde was lit up by Wong and Qing as soon as the three running individuals passed them.

Wong and Qing ran out of ammo.

Zhuan called one of his collapsing vibranium spears and threw it at the remaining zombies.

An explosion erupted blowing away the rocks and debris within the area.

After the smoke cleared all that remained was a crater and the vibranium spear in the middle.

Zhuan went over and picked up the vibranium spear also crushing the celrons he just picked up.

One of the three men spoke.

"My name is Zhuan and those two are Wong and Qing as for those three we don't associate with them"

The largest of the three men said as he turned towards the troubled trio.

"Who are you three?

Quan asked. while pointing his gun.

"I am Captain Luo of the National Guard and this is my associate Sergei this is a woman we met on the way she has special abilities"

The National Guard Captain from before spoke.

"Hi I'm Yue Fang"

The woman said as she grasped her right hand.

"Were you bitten and scratched?

Zhuan asked while staying alert.

"No, I fell and bruised my hands"

Yue quickly replied.

"You two survived, but where is your third comrade?

Wong asked.

"He was bitten because you guys left us for dead"

Luo said as he rushed to tackle Zhuan.

Luo's body fell to the ground and his head had a huge gaping hole.

Blood went everywhere.

"I should have expected this"

Zhuan said as he lowered the unusually large Glock-19 Combat pistol.

"Why did you kill him?

Quan asked a little cautious.

"He could have become a future threat"

Zhuan said.

"Anyways do you wanna trade some resources"

Zhuan said showing a pristine fresh apple.

"Sure, but we might not have much to trade and I am the leader of this settlement"

Quan said.

Zhuan sat on a wooden chair next to a large wooden platform about 20cm high.

"What can you guys trade?

Quan asked.

"What do you need?

Zhuan said.

"We don't have much medicine and antibiotics as well as ammo"

Quan said.

"We also need food for 41 people"

Quan said.

"I can give you 10 Iodine, 9 Ibuprofen, 3 Morphine, 5 splints, 3 ondansetron, 2 Prenatal Vitamins, 2 antibiotics, 2 crates of SMG and LMG ammo along with a box of pistol ammo"

"Also two boxes of food and fruits and two coolers with meat and fish all just for an alliance pact and 10% Control of your settlement"

Zhuan said as boxes, crates, and coolers appeared on the wooden platform.

Quan was stunned but quickly gathered himself and then consoled his settlement and council.

"Our Strange Isle Camp accepts your request"

Quan said as Zhuan suddenly created a contract.

Quan dipped his thumb in a strange blue liquid and printed his fingerprint on the contract.

Zhuan did the same and the pact was sealed in a titanium briefcase 2 inches thick.

Zhuan got up and left followed by Wong and Qing.

"That went well"

Wong said jokingly.

A huge rock the size of a car was thrown from the nearby trees.

"What the...

Qing said, but was saved by Zhuan who exploded the rock with a vibranium spear.

[Unknown Level Mutated Creature approaching at a rapid pace]
