Mask of Light and Darkness Part One
Sorry for the delay, got too tired and fell asleep.
Okay, as usual, part two will be released later this week, but this time it will actually happen. I have already finished the second part, but I split it because it's pretty long. Don't worry; a chapter will be released on Tuesday or Wednesday.

[Yuna's POV]
It was the last day before the Battle City's second round will began. The rulebook said I must have six locator cards to find the place for the finals. Beside, I also have so secure Silfer the Sky Dragon before the end of the day.
So much to do and so little time...
Currently, I am trying to find Yugi because where's Yugi was also where the Rare Hunters will be. He has split off with his friends to participate in the tournament alone, so finding him in this big city is difficult.
I could also go where the Rare Hunters would appear from the show, but that's also a problem. First, I had no idea where to look as there will many similar locations across Domino City. Second, with my presence in the storyline, things may have changed; Yugi may have already duelled against those Rare Hunters or that Marik won't even mess with him in the first place!
However, with no better options, I continued. As I walked briskly, I felt a sudden vibration in my pocket. Taking out my phone, I pressed the accept call button and brought the device to my ear.
"It's Seto Kaiba, we need to talk." The young president's snarky voice reverberated from the speaker, causing me to frown: "I've sent you the coordinates. Meet me there. I'm not taking no for an answer."
Kaiba briefly hangs up, leaving me at a loss. What the hell does Kaiba want to do with me? Does he wish to duel me right now? I thought about ignoring his demands but ultimately complied. Placing the address he sent into the map app. I started making my way there.
Thirty Minutes Later.....
Getting a taxi, I arrived at the designated meeting location. The first thought that came to my mind was whether or not I was in the right place. Before me was a vacant warehouse by the docks, and no one else seemed nearby.
Something's fishy...
My phone vibrated again, and Kaiba left a message urging me to hurry up and enter the warehouse.
Yep, that's too suspicious....
I should get out of here. As I pondered on my escape plan, a black car drove around the corner. It screeched to a halt beside me as the door opened. To my shock, Kaiba emerged and he doesn't seemed pleased.
"What do you want?!" Kaiba hissed.
I titled my head and didn't understand his question. Detecting my confusion, Kaiba pinched the bridge of his nose and snarled: "Are you an idiot? You called me here suddenly, and now you don't know why?!"
"But..." I muttered: "You... called me..."
"Hah?" Kaiba sighed exasperatedly: "No, why would I call you?"
We stared at each other in confusion as realisation set in. If we haven't called each other, then who...
"Something is amiss. We should leave this place this instance."
Suddenly, as Kaiba placed his hand on the car's door handle, the vehicle drove off, leaving us stranded. Stunned, he didn't know how to respond as his hand was still suspended in the air.
'Ah, the driver is probably bribed...' I thought with pity.
Sensing my thought, Kaiba looked away to hide his shame: "I will have him fired as soon as possible."
Simultaneously, with a loud bam, the entrance to the warehouse swung open. It was as if beckoning us to enter, and we stared at the opened warehouse cautiously.
"Who's there?" Kaiba shouted and crossed his arms: "Come out now, and I will show you the consequences for crossing me!"
We waited as the silence felt suffocating. When I thought it was all an elaborate joke, a raspy voice resounded from the warehouse, making my skin crawl: "Enter..."
"Hmph," The young president snorted: "As if I do something like that!"
The silence returned as the mastermind crafted his response: "I didn't know the infamous Seto Kaiba is a coward..."
I smirked. Were they dumb? As if a simple provocation like that will ever work. Tough luck, but you need to try harder than that! Right, Kaiba?
Kaiba?
When I turned my head, Kaiba had already disappeared and was walking angrily towards the warehouse. I hurriedly pulled on his sleeve to stop him: "Danger...."
He shook my hand away and scoffed: "Hiding in an empty building to lure out your enemy is nothing but a spineless move. Step aside; I will deal with this."
To think that taunt actually got under his skin...
Biting my lips, I followed him and entering the obvious trap. As soon as we stepped inside, the warehouse door closed from behind, filling the space with darkness. Suddenly, the centre of the room lit up, revealing two figures beneath the light.
Both wore matching outfits of purple robes with a hood. They also wear a mask, one with a different design to another on one side of their face. The man on the right wore a dark red frowning mask, and the one on the left had a white smiling mask.
"I'm Lumis, the Mask of Light," The person on the left introduced himself.
"I'm Umbra, the Mask of Darkness," The one on the right followed suit
Lumis/Umbra: "We were the Rare Hunters sent by Master Marik to deal with the two of you."
Our faces scrunched with wariness, Marik have finally sent his People after me. Which means he sees me as a threat and wanted me gone...
"Marik..." Kaiba spat with disgust: "He's the one that woman warned me about. So your masters possess two of the Egyptian God Cards?"
"That's right, by the time we're done with you, Seto Kaiba, our master will regain Obelisk the Tormentor and use its power to rule the world!" Lumis laughed.
"So enjoy it while you can before we banish you both to the Shadow Realm!" Umbra declared.
'Shadow Realm,' I gritted my teeth. That term always sounded hilarious when I watched the show, but now, I couldn't afford to laugh when I was threatened...
The two rare hunters revealed the duel disks on their wrists and in unison,they activated the device.
"Kaiba..." I called out to him, and he nodded.
"Let's crush these fools," Kaiba said confidently, and our own duel disks came to life. I was still quite surprised that he agreed to work with me this easily. Was it because of what happened in Legendary Heroes? It doesn't matter; I don't care what he's thinking as long as we make it out alive!
Yuna/Kaiba/Umbra/Lumis: "Duel!"

[Seto Kaiba: 4000 LP]

[Umbra: 4000 LP]
"I will go first!" Lumis announced when the light on his duel disk illuminated: "I will set two cards; it's your move, Duel King."
Until all of us have played, nobody can attack. I should first see what they're scheming: "I will summon Dragon Knight of Creation, set one card and end my turn."
[Dragon Knight of Creation: 1800 Attack, 600 Defence]
"It's my move," Umbra said with a smile. "I summon Shiny Abyss!"
A peculiar winged being appeared by the rare hunter's side. The monster resembled a blue golem with the lower body of a sphere. Attached to Shiny Abyss's back was a pair of golden wings that flapped fervently, lifting the monster in the air.
[Shiny Abyss: 1600 Defence, 1800 Attack]
"Then I will activate my spell, mask of brutality and equipping it to my Shiny Abyss. With the mask's power, Shiny Abyss will gain one thousand additional attacks but will lose one thousand defence points."
A crude mask appeared on Shiny Abyss's face, and I felt the mask emitting energy into the monster's flesh.
[Shiny Abyss: 1600 -> 2600 Attack, 1800 -> 800 Defence]
"A monster with twenty-six hundred attacks on the first turn?" Kaiba exclaimed and gritted his teeth.
"Unfortunately, while Mask of Brutality is on the field, I must take one thousand damage in each of my stand-by phases." Umbra smiled: "But my brother can do something about that. Now let's see what you're capable of, Seto Kaiba."
"I will also set two cards and summon Vorse Raider in attack position." He said calmly, and before him rose a wicked beastly warrior wearing a black pointy helmet and vest. In his hand was a large double-sided blade, and the monster ran his nails along the edge, creating a disturbing sound.
[Vorse Raider: 1900 Attack, 1200 Defence]
Kaiba and I glanced at each other, sharing the same thoughts. Our turns were rather lacklustre compared to Umbra, and now, our opponents could begin their assault.
"First, I will activate the Masked Doll (anime) spell card. All the self-inflicted damage that Umbra and I will take will be negated as long as this card is on the field!"
Between Lumis and Umbra, there appeared a mannequin; suddenly, a metal stake pierced through the doll's chest and seemed to be draining an ominous purple wisp from the Mask of Brutality.
Lumis: "Then, I use Mask of Accursed and equip it to Dragon Knight of Destruction!"
A strange mask attached itself to the Dragon Knight of Creation's face. No matter how hard the knight was to pull, he couldn't remove the mask.
"While a monster was equipped with Mask of Accursed, that monster couldn't attack, and if it's the only monster on the field, then we can attack you directly and you must take five hundred damage in each stand-by phase!"
Lumis cackled like a madman before smiling at me with a disgusting grin: "I will end my turn."
As I drew a card, the mask of Accursed fired a dark red beam and struck my body. It was uncomfortable, but I endured and glanced at my duel disks, where my life points dropped drastically.
[Yuna Sano: 4000 LP -> 3500 LP]
"My turn!" I shouted: "I will activate Ruins of The Divine Dragon Lords! While this continuous spell is on the field, once per turn, I can destroy one of my cards and summon a Dragon Lord Token! I will destroy Dragon Knight of Creation and special summon the token in defence position!"
Dragon Knight of Creation calmly transformed, shrinking into a shiny orb floating in the middle of my field. When the Dragon Knight of Creation was attributed, the mask on his face shattered and erupted in flames. Good, at least I don't have to take any damage for the time being...
[Dragon Lord Token: 0 Attack, 0 Defence]
"Then, I summon Starliege Seyfert! Sending my Blue-Eyes White Dragon to the graveyard and adding Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand to to my hand!"
[Starliege Seyfert: 1800 Attack, 0 Defence]
"Finally, Starliege Seyfert, attack Lumis!"
"That' won't happen!" Lumis interjected as Starliege Seyfert flew towards him: "I'm activating Mirror Force, when Starliege Seyfert attacks; I can destroy all your monsters that are in attacking position!"
Before the dragon could reach Lumis, an invisible barrier reflected its attack, directing the power back into itself. Starliege Seyfert roared as all the damage returned to its body, ultimately leading to its defeat.
"I will end my turn here..." I muttered.
"Hmph," Umbra snorted: "Looks like it's my turn. I will attack Kaiba's Vorse Raider!"
"Tsk...." Kaiba clicked his teeth: "I activate Ring of Destruction, destroying your Shiny Abyss while we both take the same amount of damage equal to Shiny Abyss's attack!"
A shackle appeared on Shiny Abyss's neck; there were multiple grenades without pins around the shackles, indicating they would go off at any second.
"I won't let you!" Lumis shouted from the side, revealing his hidden card: "I will use Curse Transfer! Your Ring of Destruction will be negated, and Curse Transfer will gain the effect of your Ring of Destruction, and I will use it on your Vorse Raider instead!"
To Kaiba's surprise, the shackle around Shiny Abyss disappeared before reappearing onto the neck of his own Vorse Raider!
"Dammit, I will use Ring of Defence, all traps that inflict damage towards me will be reduced to zero!" Kaiba shouted. Unfortunately, Lumis seemed to have a counter to that also...
"In response, I will use my second set card, Spell Transfer, and I can negate Ring of Defence like Curse Transfer. My spell card will take the effect of Ring of Defence, protecting myself from the Ring of Destruction!"
Kaiba: ?!
The grenade unleashed a devasting explosion that engulfed both duelists. However, before the explosion occurred, I saw a shield appearing before the rare hunter, protecting him from the damage.
[Seto Kaiba: 4000 LP -> 2100 LP]
Kaiba: "You imprudent...."
"Now, now," Umbra wagged his finger: "No need to get personal, let's continue, and since a battle hasn't occurred yet, Shiny Abyss can still fight and attack Kaiba directly!"
Shiny Abyss closed in, and I hurriedly activated my own trap card: "I will use Negate Attack, stopping Shiny Abyss from attacking and ending the battle phase!"
"Kaiba, are you alright?" I asked out of concern.
He nodded and regained his calm as Umbra passed the turn to him: "I draw!" he shouted, drawing his card from his duel disks dramatically.
I couldn't discern it from the distance, but he seemed to have drawn the card he had wanted. Kaiba smiled: "You two have truly crossed me; now get ready to face my wrath!"
"I will use Monster Reborn, special summoning the Blue Eyes White Dragon from Sano's graveyard!"
To my surprise, my Blue Eyes White Dragon, which I discarded earlier, was summoned onto Kaiba's field. His cloak flapped wildly even if there was no wind inside the room. Behind him was a beautiful white dragon that roared with vigour and I subconsciously held my breath.
Cool.....
[Blue Eyes White Dragon: 3000 Attack, 2500 Defence]
"Blue Eyes White Dragon, wipe Shiny Abyss off the face of this earth!" The dragon unleashed a white beam. Struck by the deadly attack, Shiny Abyss was destroyed without a trace.
[Umbra: 4000 LP -> 3600 LP]
"Just wait; you will lose a lot more than a monster," Kaiba warned.
Unheeding to the threat, the two rare hunters laughed: "Keep talking; soon, you won't be doing it much longer!"
"My turn!" Lumis yelled: "First, I will activate the Mask of Dispel, attaching it to your Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lord," He said to me.
On the stone foundation of the statue appeared another mask with a ghost-like appearance: "While Mask of Dispel is on the field, the effect of your continuous spell is negated, and you will take five hundred damage on every standby phase!"
"Then, I summon Grand Tiki Elder and attack your Dragon Token!" Umbra said as he summoned a green ghoul monster onto the field. The monster's face was covered by a native-like mask with various ornaments strapped to its neck.
[Grand Tiki Elder: 1500 Attack, 800 Defence]
Grand Tiki Elder lunged without hesitation and shredded my weakened Token into pieces: "Then, I'm setting one card to end my turn."
"It's my turn!" I announced and instantly took damage from Mask of Dispel.
[Yuna Sano: 3500 LP -> 3000 LP]
Staring at my new card in hand. I felt a sense of ecstasy at finally gaining a chance to make a move: "I will use Card of Destruction. All of us will discard our entire hand and draw the same amount of cards from our deck!"
Following my instruction, we all discarded our cards simultaneously. I glimpsed at Kaiba for his reaction, and he seemed rather delighted at removing what I assume was a brick hand.
"Then, I will use Return of the Dragon Lords to summon a level seven or eight dragon monster from my graveyard! Reveal yourself, Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand!"
*ROAR*
I heard a roar erupting behind. Without turning around, I feel the comfortable presence of Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand, and a sense of relief washes over me.
[Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand: 2800 Attack, 2800 Defence]
"I will use Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand's ability to banish your Grand Tiki Elder, and Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand will gain one hundred attacks for each level Grand Tiki Elder has!"
Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand fired a golden beam, engulfing Grand Tiki Elder whole. My powerful dragon then consumed the energy, and its strength rose sharply.
[Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand: 2800 -> 3200 Attack, 2800 -> 3200 Defence]
"Now, attack Lumis!" I yelled, and following my orders, Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand lunged. Striking the rare hunter with his claws.
"I activate Mask of Impregnability," Lumis said calmly, presenting a new mask in his hand.
Placing it on his face, the attack was blocked by an invisible force and pushed Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand backwards: "With this card's effect, all damage I take from my opponents this turn will be zero."
Annoyed, I clicked my teeth: "I will end my turn here."
Umbra glanced at my Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand and whistled: "Impressive, Lumis. We should start to get serious now."
"Agreed.." The other rare hunter nodded: "We can't let Master Marik wait any longer."
With a creepy grin, Umbra revealed the cards in his hand: "I will use the Ritual Spell, Curse of the Masked Beast!!"

Hope you enjoy, the amount of time I have to write mask in this chapter is absurd.
