Guardian

Hearing Yue suddenly declare herself the older sister. Fillia couldn't help but pout a little. She was the older one here! But since her goddess said so, she could only nod her head. Biting her lower lip, she lowered her head and said: "Then Big Sister..."

Yue saw how cute Fillia was, and her heart swooned as she hugged the girl tightly. She had always wanted a little sister, and now she has one. Yue's life just got that much better. "Then I guess our living quarters are all set. I will take the room on the left, and you take the right." Yue was happy that the palace was all set. Both bedrooms had big beds in them, which was good. With the Oom still hanging all over her, Yue and Fillia left the cottage and walked around the property so Yue could get a good feel for the place.

In a faraway land sitting in a high seat with a room full of minotaurs, Kai rested his head on his fist as he looked out over the crowd. "Well? Are you going to submit, or do I need to destroy your entire clan?"

The minotaur in the front, whole body shook as he knelt on the ground. "W-We submit..." They had no other choice. The man in front of them was way too strong. With just a look, he was able to defeat every person in this room, and they were the champions of his clan!

"Good! Do not worry. I will not treat your people as slaves. I need you to be my eyes and ears on this continent. I need someone to watch over the lands here and send back intel. Lowel here will stay and help assist with setting up the teleportation array to the castle so you can make weekly or emergency reports. Although I do not rule over this portion of the continent, I know humans have been up to something as of late that involves the demi races. I will not allow the humans to make a move on the other races. All races should be free and never enslaved." Kai paused as he felt something was off. "Hmmm?"

"My lord?" Lowel asked. He was the bird man who was with him every time he met Yue.

"It seems my pup has disappeared. I will need to go take a look, Lowel you will be in charge here." He could feel the ring had vanished from his senses which concerned him. He would need to go check and make sure his future wife was fine. After leaving those words, he disappeared, leaving behind Lowel, who was staring at the empty seat in disbelief.

When Kai reappeared, he was hovering over an ancient city deep in the monster domain. But instead of being overrun by monsters, there were orcs hammering away at the old buildings trying to fix them up. And to his surprise, there was even an elf woman and a dwarf helping out as well. As for his Pup… When he arrived, he suddenly felt her presence again. She was down there also helping out with the construction with a small demonkin girl running around behind her anxiously, almost as if she was afraid his pup was going to hurt herself.

Yue felt a set of eyes on her and smelt a familiar scent. A small smile formed on her face as she mumbled: "Handsome man?" She turned to Fillia, who had been shadowing her ever since they left the Moon Palace, and said: "Fillia stay here and help for a bit. I will be right back."

"Ah!? Okay..." Fillia nodded obediently and went over to help some of the orcs.

Yue tapped teddy, who was on her head, and said: "Don't say anything to Handsome, okay?"

"Humph! I am the most handsome!" Teddy snorted before lowering his head and going back to sleep. He wanted nothing to do with his master's love life.

Yue smiled and walked deep into the woods. She was not afraid of any of the monsters here since Teddy had already made it so they would never attack her. She walked a little bit away from the city before stopping by a big tree that let some of the day's sunshine down to the forest floor. "Handsome man, you can come out now."

"Oh? So my little pup is able to sense me even when I am so far away? " Kai asked as she floated down from the sky. His lips were curled up into a smile, causing Yue to blush as she stared at his handsome face. "You're drooling again."

"I can't help it when you are this handsome," Yue complained as she wiped her mouth. "Plus, your smile alone is enough to make my little heart throb. So why have you come to visit me?"

Kai couldn't help but think the way his little pup was so straightforward was rather cute. "The ring. It allows me to know where you are at any time. But at some point, you disappeared from my senses so, can you explain to me how you were able to hide from me?"

Yue looked at the ring on her finger and pursed her lips. She wondered why such a handsome man would want to know where she was all the time. 'Did he like me? No… how could such a handsome man like me? I am just a lowly commoner while he is obviously someone of high status.' This only confused Yue more. She didn't understand why the handsome man would want to keep track of her.

That was when it hit her! 'Does he know that I have the goddess powers!?' Feeling a bit torn between all her thoughts, she shook her head and looked at the handsome face before saying: "Girls' secret." With a wide grin and pushing her finger to her lips. Her ears were twitching, and her tail was wagging. She decided that even if the handsome man knew her secret, she would just play dumb. He did not seem like he was out to harm her. He did help her, after all. That was when another thought came to mind 'Maybe this handsome man is my guardian! That must be it!' He gave her a ring full of things she would need and even came to check on her when she disappeared, so he must be her guardian.

Like this, Kai went from being just being a handsome man to her to being a handsome man who was her guardian. If only he knew what was going on in Yue's mind. But it was impossible to tell what she was thinking with how she was smiling brightly staring at the handsome man in front of her.

"Alright as long as you are safe." Kai did not pry and instead changed the subject. "Are you planning to make a home here?"
