Episode 15: The Shadow Eliminator

Multiple duelists were losing in the cemetery. When Joseph, Frank, and Nick heard about it, they went to the cemetery and looked around. Then a girl with a vampire duel disk named Elena said, "Looking for someone?" Joseph, Frank, and Nick saw many duelists unconscious near the girl. Joseph said, "What did you do to these people?" Elena said, "I'm one of Jenn's eliminators. It's all or nothing for me. I beat all of these duelists in a shadow game, and when someone loses to me, they pay the price of losing all their tournament coins. Joseph said, "Well, I challenge you. And if I win, you have to give everyone back their coins, and I get 2 of yours." Elena said, "Deal. But if I win, I get all of your tokens."

Joseph and Elena activated their duel disks and drew their first five cards. Joseph drew Singing Voice, Hall of Lasers, Kitty, the Talking Horse, Robin, The Musketeer Horse, and Waterfall Drop from his deck. Elena drew Dark Necrofear, Diabound Kernel, Remove Trap, Goblin Zombie, and Dark Sanctuary from her deck. Elena said, "I think I'll start." Elena drew Castle of Dark Illusions from her deck and thought, "Perfect." Elena said, "I play Castle of Dark Illusions (920/1930) in defense mode. Now, my field gets covered in shadows, hiding all my monsters. So, if you want to attack my monsters, you'll have to find them first. That ends my turn." Joseph drew Campsite from his deck and said, "Clever. Too bad your castle must crumble. I play Robin, The Musketeer Horse (1850/1550) in Attack Mode and combine him with Singing Voice, raising his power by 1000 points." Then, Robin, The Musketeer Horse's power rose from 1850 to 2850. Elena said, "What? This guy already has a monster with 2850 attack points." Joseph said, "And all of them aimed directly at..." Joseph pointed at Elena's Castle of Dark Illusions and said, "Your castle."

Frank gasped because he couldn't believe Joseph would try to take down a flying castle. Joseph said, "OK, Robin. Jump high and knock that castle out of the sky." Robin jumped high and headbumped the castle, and a bright light flashed on Elena while she screamed. When Robin landed, everyone waited for the result. The castle started to crack and then came tumbling down. Joseph said, "That ends my turn." Elena drew Ectoplasmer from her deck, looked at the cards in her hand, and thought they were powerful. Elena said, "For my turn, I'll play a card face down in defense mode and end my turn." Joseph drew Musketeer Roll Call from his deck and thought, "I'll save this." Joseph said, "I'll attack your monster with my horse." Robin, The Musketeer Horse, destroyed Elena's Goblin Zombie (1100/1050). Joseph said, "That ends my turn." Elena drew The Dark Door from her deck and said, "I'll pass this turn." Joseph drew Tower's Dungeon from his deck and said, "OK, Robin, attack her Life Points." Then Elena lost 2850 Life Points, bringing her down to 1150. Frank said, "Something's wrong." Nick said, "Yeah. This seems too easy." Joseph said, "That ends my turn." Elena drew Souls of the Forgotten from her deck and said, "I play Souls of the Forgotten (900/200) in defense mode." Joseph drew Fusion Gate and said, "Boring. I'll spare that one, hoping you'll sacrifice next turn, so I'll lay 1 card face down and end my turn."

Elena drew Black Pendant from her deck and said, "I'll sacrifice Souls of the Forgotten for Diabound Kernel (1800/1200). Now, I'll activate its special ability. When this card attacks, it gains 600 points. Also, I can target one of your monsters and make it lose power equal to my monster's power." Then Diabound Kernel's power rose from 1800 to 2400, and Robin's power dropped from 2850 to 1050. Then Diabound Kernel destroyed Robin, The Musketeer Horse, and Joseph lost 1350 Life Points, bringing him down to 2650. Elena said, "And just to be sure, I won't have to banish my Diabound Kernel for one turn, leaving me wide open; I'll play Ecoplasmer to destroy Diabound Kernel and send a blast directly your way." Then an energy beam surrounded Diabound Kernel sucked his life force out, and Elena shot it directly at Joseph. Then Joseph got hit with the beam and lost 900 Life Points, bringing him down to 1750. Then Joseph dropped down to his knees and said,  Elena said, "And don't think I'm done yet. I'll sacrifice Diabound Kernel, Castle of Dark Illusions, and Souls of the Forgotten, removing them from my graveyard. This allows me to summon Dark Necrofear (2200/2800). Now, I'll equip him with the Black Pendant, raising his power by 500." Then, Dark Necrofear's power rose from 2200 to 2700. Frank said, "Maybe this will be harder than Joseph thought." Elena said, "Now, attack him directly!" Joseph said, "This can't be." Nick said, "Joseph!" When Dark Necrofear's attack went through, Joseph lost 2700 Liffe Points, which brought him down to 0. Joseph said, "I'm not done. I still have my face-down card, Waterfall Drop. This destroys all monsters on the field and removes their power from our Life Points." Then Dark Nectofear got destroyed, and Elena lost 2700 Life Points, bringing her down to 0. Frank said, "They tied." Joseph and Elena then collapsed since that duel took a lot out of them.

After Joseph's duel with Elena ended, Frank and Nick took them to the hospital. Once Joseph woke up, he saw Frank and Nick standing by him. Joseph said, "What happened?" Frank said, "You passed out after your duel with Elena. Just like she did, you both did well, but you tied. We've returned the coins the other players lost, but sadly, you won't be getting yours since you didn't win either. Joseph said, "Well, at least Elena must start over from scratch now. She was a worthy competitor." Frank said, "Yes, but the doctor says you can't leave bed until tomorrow. Those direct attacks she did in 1 turn could have cost you the duel if you didn't activate that magic card." Joseph said, "Yeah." Joseph then laid back and fell asleep.
