A few hours later.
I went to the kitchen to cook some Dinner for everyone but to my horror, there wasn't any material for a proper meal to be cooked so I decided to go out to buy some things from the grocery store.
The store wasn't that far from their place, it was at a walking distance.
"Thank you," I said as I took the stuff and left the store.
It isn't too soon after I started walking down the dark sidewalk that I notice the footsteps behind me.
At first, I wasn't too concerned.
A middle-aged lady with a shopping bag had been heading in the same direction as me earlier. So I assumed that it's her making the soft clicking sounds on the concrete behind me.
But, I shouldn't have.
The thing that caused me to get alarmed was that when I lengthened my stride and speeded up my pace, the footsteps speeded up too. And when I begin to speed-walk due to my uneasiness, the footsteps followed.
My heart was jumping in my chest, pounding like a drum being beaten to its physical limits.
I'm being followed.
Too scared to turn around because I'm already aware of who's behind, I simply gulped in a huge breath of freezing cold air and pushed my body into a slight jog.
I wracked my brain, pushing past the gnawing fear edging through me as I try to think of someplace to go to.
As I do, I glanced hesitantly over my shoulder.
There behind me, mirroring my slow jog, was the man I feared him to be.
He wasn't even being subtle now, keeping a small distance between the two of us as he watched with a tiny, terrifying grin.
There was no one around him, or me. The street was completely desolate, devoid of any other life forms in the dim street light.
I broke into a sprint.
I didn't know where I was headed to, but I had to get there fast. I was smaller than him, maybe there's a chance that I can outrun him and avoid being subject to whatever plans he's made for me.
Just maybe.
Shivering, I refused to think about what those plans might be.
For the first time, the man spoke.
"You can run, little HIKARI" he called mockingly, in a rough, gritty voice that sounded like he's been smoking for a long time. "But you can't hide, just give up now, sweetheart."
I'm surprised that my heart is still in my chest at this point as my limbs trembled with overwhelming fear,
There was no one here to save me.
No one here to hear my screams.
'helpmehelpmehelpme' I screamed inside my head but I was silent on the outside, forcing all the physical energy that I could muster into my legs.
I take another glance out of my shoulder, but he wasn't there anymore.
I kept walking while looking back and just when I brought my neck to look forward, he was there. He was right in front of me.
He forced his hand on my mouth, to prevent me from screaming and grabbed my wrist forcefully, and pulled me into an ally nearby.
He pushed me in the most harshest way to the wall and whispered in my ear.
"Did you forget about me, darling?"
I tried to push him away but that wasn't of any help
"Stop resisting Hikari otherwise you know what all I can do" I feared his words and stopped resisting at once.
"What do you want, Chen!" I spoke out of irritation.
Chen is a senior, a person of a higher authority of those I work for, he's no better than the head of the organization. He's rotten to the core, and all he desires is the work to be done, things to be handled all the way he likes it to be.
"You don't seem like you're doing your job. Are you falling for the members' Hikari? Is that what you were told to do?" He slapped my face with all his might and I banged myself on the trash can nearby.
I tried getting up but he bent down and held my face.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"
You threw me to the trash can how the hell am I supposed to maintain eye contact, dumbass.
"I'm doing my job as I was told, Chen. It'll take some time to gain their trust."
I resent all this, I want to run away from everything and go to a peaceful, serene location.
"Chen? Am I not older than you, Hikari?"
He smirked at me as he spoke and that disgusted me.
"Sorry, oppa" I replied as I had to, emphasizing the latter word.
"Good girl. Now get going or things might get suspicious"
He kicked me as he got up and left.
What a Knucklehead, that dumbass. I gritted my teeth as I was hell bound to do anything against him.
I just want this to be over, as soon as possible.
I straight off collected the materials that fell off and headed home.

I enter the house, as quietly as possible, but what a waste of energy as Jin was already in the living room.
"Hey, where were you?" Jin questioned as I entered the house.
"Just getting the required ingredients for cooking tonight's dinner" I assured him with a gleaming smile. Naive of him to believe, also ignorant of him to not notice my bruises. I did cover most of the injuries on my way back. But some of the bruises, despite the make up I used to hide must be visible. He probably noticed and chose to ignore, or maybe he didn't.

Later that night, I couldn't help but create a paradox of thoughts in my mind.
I don't want this. I can't hurt them. But if I don't do this job then I might risk their lives.
I sighed as I thought of my current situation.
While I was Lost in my thoughts lying on the bed, I heard a knock at the door.
"Come in" It was Taehyung, with his boxy smile. He walked in and plopped onto my bed. I sat up on my bed, our bodies closer due to the shifting of positions.
"Hey! sadly, we couldn't go out. I wish I was younger than Jungkook" I giggled as he told me how much he wanted to go out and know me better.
"It's alright" I reassured him.
"You thought I was dating someone?" Taehyung chuckled which then was followed by a smirk.
My cheeks heated up at his comment. Can't Jungkook keep his mouth shut?
"umm...I mean I thought that maybe umm" I didn't know what to say. It was so obvious that I was jealous at the time I read those messages.
"Pfft-"
What's he laughing at?
"And you thought I was into guys?" I sighed out of embarrassment at my own responses I made yesterday.
"It's alright. But I haven't been in a serious relationship ever." I was surprised at his remark.
"REALLY? ME TOO!" I spoke in a flash.
"Let's give it a try soon then" He winked at me and left me hanging. What is trying to insinuate? Or was that just a teasing playful comment?
"Also as for me being into guys, that's all in your head," he leaned closer to me, his body almost hovering me, our lips inches away from meeting, "You're the only one I'm into, babe" he quickly kissed my nose and jumped off my bed, leaving me petrified. Not in a horrific way, but I was indeed overwhelmed, I just like him so much, and he's making it so difficult for me to suppress it.
Don't make this harder for me Kim Taehyung.
I fell asleep reminiscing all the events that summed up for me being here under these circumstances.
