Forgetful fiancee

"Miss Reine, it is impossible that Miss Aelia's dress is of an imitated design! You might not recognize the material of this dress, but it is actually made from Delphian silk, the thinnest as well as the only sheer silk in the world. The embroidery on her dress too is made by the world-renowned designer, Sebastian Park. Common people might not recognize his signature embroidery, but any designer could identify his unique embroidery at one glance. If you claim that Miss Aelia's dress is fake, then you might as well say that the most famous designer in the world has copied someone else's design!"

These words were spoken by Pavlo Rodriguez. He was the most famous designer of Phillon and an admirer of the works of Sebastian Park. So, how could he let an ignorant girl slander the work of the person, whom he considered as his mentor?

Hearing the words spoken by Mr Rodriguez, everyone finally understood that they had previously got the whole picture wrong. It wasn't Aelia scheming against Reine, it was Reine, who after joining the Romanov family, had immediately started to scheme against her half-sister.

They clicked their tongues on realizing Reine's vicious nature at such a young age. Some of them shuddered to think what would happen to them as they had wrongly scolded the fiance of Delphia's Crown Prince. They felt extremely angry at Reine for directing them towards the wrong conclusion.

They feared that if Asher truly wanted to have revenge for his fiancee, he might make them along with their families disappear from Phillon the very next day. Having realized they had made a fatal mistake, the crowd quickly apologised to Aelia with guilty faces.

Aelia knew that most of them did not truly feel apologetic, instead, they feared Asher, who had claimed to be his fiance. Aelia did not get angry at these people's attitudes, for she knew this was how the high society worked. The weak feared the strong and would pretend to do anything to gain the latter's favour.

So, Aelia gave a perfunctory reply and waved the crowd to dismiss.

The party soon resumed its normal mood.

While Aelia looked at her brother with folded arms, demanding him for answers; Aylin started to chat with Asher without giving much thought about how he came to be her sister's fiance. She felt that it had to be the truth as neither her father nor her brother directly denied the fact. So, she naturally regarded Asher as her brother-in-law, rather than the Crown Prince of Delphia.

Azrael knew that he had to answer his sister's questions and could not help but glare at Asher, who was the main instigator behind this.

"I'll tell you after the party, alright?"

Aelia thought that he was still trying to evade her questions and raised her brows, demanding to be answered right then.

Seeing his sister's stubborn attitude, which resembled their mother, Azrael could not help but sigh.

"Really, this is not the place to discuss those matters! I'll tell you after the party! Father too needs to know somethings", added Asher contemplatively.

After confirming that her brother was telling the truth, Aelia mingled with the guests, while keeping a conscious distance from her supposed 'fiance'.

Asher too noticed this and chuckled to himself. He did not try to forcefully approach her for he knew that his angel would be eventually his. He had patiently waited for fourteen years, what was wrong with waiting for a couple more hours. He knew that she felt confused by his sudden appearance, so he decided to give her some space.

Asher occasionally chatted with Azrael and Aylin, but his gaze was always fixed on Aelia. When Azrael noticed this, he scowled in displeasure, while Aylin found her brother-in-law's actions extremely adorable.

Aelia too had felt Asher's gaze on herself, and she could not help but blush under his intense stare. Usually, Aelia hated when people stared at her, but Asher's gaze somehow did not make her feel uncomfortable. For the first time in a long while, she felt admired and loved under someone's gaze except her parents or siblings.

For though many people admired her for being an heir of the Romanov family, or for her achievements in her academic life, Aelia knew that what they admired were her social status and her achievements. None of them would give a second glance at her without her social status or her achievements.

However, Asher's gaze somehow made her believe that he saw her as simply Aelia. She believed that even if she had not been a Romanov or had not made considerable achievements in her academic life, Asher's gaze would still remain the same.

Aelia was quite shocked at herself, for having such faith in a man whom she had just met and did not even have a proper conversation with.

She peeked a glance at him and blushed a little when she caught his eyes. Seeing Asher give a light chuckle, she quickly averted her eyes and resumed talking with a group of businessmen.

Though Asher had decided to give her some space for the duration of the party, he could not help but be a little miffed when he thought about how his angel had forgotten about their first encounter. He thought to himself, 'Here, I spent the last fourteen years thinking about her; yet she has completely forgotten about me. Never mind! I'll let this pass just this once! It can't be helped that my angel is a forgetful person! From now on, I'll have to make sure that even if she forgets everyone else, she won't be able to forget me!'

If Aelia would have heard about Asher's shameless thoughts, she would become speechless. However, she remained ignorant and did not know that just because she had forgotten about their first encounter when she was only five years old, she had been dubbed as 'forgetful' by her fiance.

Although Aelia did not get to know about Asher's thoughts when Azrael saw Asher gazing at his little sister with a smirk, he scowled and called him out, "Your Highness! What nefarious plans are you making about my sister?"

Asher replied with a straight face, "I'm thinking about where to hold our wedding? One wedding has to happen in the Grand Chapel of the Royal Palace, but if she wanted a destination wedding, what do you think she would prefer? A beach wedding or a wedding in a natural resort? How about having a destination wedding in Phillon according to Phillon's customs and we can hold another ceremony in Delphia at the Royal Palace, following Delphia's traditions. What do you think?"

Azrael could not help but shake his head at Asher's thoughts. He didn't even have a proper conversation with his sister and was already planning their wedding.
