Will You Accept Just Lunch?

Emilia was seated next to Angel in Nathaniel's living room, hunched over several documents.

It had been a week since Angel arrived and they had already increased security around all the members of the De La Rue family. They also coordinated with the families of those closest to them.

"Are you sure you can trust these men?" Angel asked as she pointed at a list of names.

She had asked Emilia to contribute a few men to work covertly.

"Yeah, they don't have bad blood with the people you want protected," Emilia said as she scanned the names for probably the sixth time since she placed the list on the table.

"Good," Angel hummed and nodded. "This is a complicated game we are playing."

Emilia couldn't help but agree, it was complicated.

Mixing the underworld and the ordinary world was not something they did.

Nathaniel had placed each of them in their own roles for a reason, it never ended well when those two worlds mixed.
