Suspicions

"I know how it sounds, okay!" Maya grumbled as a waiter arrived with their food.

"Okay, so you didn't get to speak to the President, but he dropped all actions against your cousin. Also, we now know that he isn't interested in you so you can now breathe a sigh of relief." Celia said as she basically summed up what had happened between Maya and the mysterious President.

Maya nodded a little too eagerly, she didn't like the rumors that were circulating.

She knew that despite everything, she already had someone in her heart, even if that person didn't deserve it.

"So where does Nate Rue fit in this mess?" Celia questioned.

"He was there, the President's assistant, Mr. Thomas told me that he wasn't sure what time the President would be free," Maya began to explain. "So Nate offered to take me to lunch because I owe him a date."
