'You have a very stubborn woman to deal with, you know,' Carlton's parting words echoed in Nathaniel's mind as he walked out of the study.
He had admitted to the old man that he had gone after Ayenne, that he had exposed what she had done. He told Carlton how he planned to drag Ayenne and her friends' names through the mud until there was no hope for them to ever recover.
Carlton agreed with what he had done.
He confessed that he had wanted to do it for a long time now, but he knew Maya would not be happy if he did such a thing. Now that there was a bigger fish at play, however, Carlton could do whatever he wished without suspicion.
They agreed to make a call and discuss the matter in the future, but as of today, Nathaniel had full control of whatever he wanted to do with Ayenne and her friends.
"So what did Grandpa want to talk to you about?" Maya asked as she walked him from the study to the foyer.
Nathaniel laughed and shook his head.
