2 Chapter 2

-[?]-

Whether or not they believed that the genomorphs they sent would be able to stop him, it seemed like the numbers reduced by the time he got to the elevator.

He saw a single G-troll in front of it. With a dismissive wave of his palm, the genomorphs was sent flying into the wall beside it.

Using his telekinesis, he pried the elevator door open. Seeing the lift nowhere to be found, he flew himself upwards, his eyes noting the labelings of each sublevel he passed.

As he made his way up, a few thoughts ran through his mind. He'd thought of what to do after escaping many times but it had all come back to the same answer.

He didn't have an identity in this universe. He'd essentially be an alien in the world which wasn't completely untrue.

He had also thought of how to solve the problem of an identity which didn't have many pleasant options. Though he had theoretical knowledge of advanced sciences, hacking and creating an identity was way out of his league.

Then there's the fact that the light and the Justice League would probably spot that at one point. If the Light attempted to pursue him, so would the Justice League.

Unpleasant as sacrificing yourself to fight the 'good fight' was, he'd rather do that than join the Light. He wasn't too keen on allying with Savage or Darkseid for any reason.

In the end, his decision making skills led him back to the same solution, the Justice League. Fallible as they were, he couldn't possibly fight the Light on his own. He also wouldn't say to having the opportunity to improve his abilities.

His flight didn't take long as he got to the top. Where the elevator door to the top floor was supposed to be, the lift hung there occupying the space and blocking his access.

He turned to the door that read 'SL 1', blasting the door open. He flew himself towards the door, letting himself land just at the edge.

He focused his telekinesis on the lift above, exercising his power once again as he forcefully pulled it down. Hearing a cable snap, he didn't carelessly let it drop just yet.

He reached forward with his telepathy, searching for any mind inside the lift. Finding nobody inside, he changed his target, searching below him as far as he could.

Finding nobody lurking below, he allowed it to drop freely, a screeching sound ringing in the air to his slight irritation.

*BOOM!*

With the downward momentum, it didn't take time to reach the floor. He immediately flew out and upwards. Above sublevel one was level 1 and 2, the normal floors in Cadmus that were known to the public.

*BOOM!*

The sound of what seemed to be a fight occurring rang out on level 1. He found the mental connection still active, diving into it as he saw images of Desmond, now Blockbuster, punching Superboy through the ceiling and onto the floor above.

'I guess this is it.' He thought as he lowered himself to level 1, stretching his palm forward and blasting the door off its hinges.

Looking forward as he let himself land, he found Aqualad, Robin and Kid Flash turning to him in shock. Further behind them was Blockbuster holding Superboy in the air.

"Who are y-" Aqualad spoke but was interrupted as Superboy was sent crashing into him.

That was enough to spur the other two teens into action as they rushed to help Superboy and Aqualad to their feet.

"Great, as if we didn't have more problems already." Kid Flash said sarcastically as Superboy and Robin turned to face Blockbuster while he and Aqualad focused on the blond boy.

"Who are you?" Aqualad had the decency to ask as Blockbuster let out a monstrous roar before charging forward.

"I'm here to help." The blond boy said as he flew high into the air, an invisible force taking hold of the four teens as they too were held in the air.

Blockbuster almost stumbled as he ran past their previous position, missing them entirely.

"Let me go!" Superboy screamed, promoting him to release his hold on the boy, allowing him to drop downwards.

As the boy descended, he cocked his fist backwards, using the momentum to lay a powerful punch on the face of the mutated scientist, sending it stumbling back.

Gently letting the other three down to the floor, he focused his attention on Blockbuster who was currently engaging in a slug fest with Superboy.

Just as they were about to move to help their comrade, Blockbuster froze in place, giving Superboy the chance to send him stumbling back.

As the creature regained its balance, it was suddenly lifted into the air by an unseen force. Aqualad turned to the flying blond boy who was the obvious cause.

With a simple gesture, Desmond was raised higher into the air before being abruptly slammed painfully into the ground. Not even a second later, he was hoisted up and brought down forcefully once again.

Under the stunned gazes of the three sidekicks and Superboy, he repeated the action until Blockbuster was knocked unconscious. There was a sizable formation of a crater with webbed cracks on the floor where the creature was repeatedly smashed into.

'At least it's better than the entire building being destroyed.' He thought as he lowered himself to the ground.

"Okay…remind me to never get on his bad side." Kid Flash said nervously next to Robin as Aqualad stepped forward.

"We appreciate the help. Who are you?" The dark skinned boy asked politely.

He didn't need to think of any complicated story or lies seeing as how the question had a simple answer. "I am Project Mars. Clone of the Martian Manhunter and Black Canary." He answered, causing the teens' eyes to widen.

"Well that explains a lot." The speedster among them said dryly.

"Wait! You're Project Mars?" Robin asked in shock, slightly confusing him but he nodded.

"You know about him?" Kid Flash asked. Instead of responding with words, Robin activated the holocomputer on his wrist, opening a file.

"Project Mars. The file was right next to Superboy's but I didn't have time to decrypt either of them. We also didn't have time to check it out." The boy wonder explained.

Kaldur turned back to the boy. "How did you escape?"

"While you guys were freeing him and causing a racket, I took the opportunity to bust out of my own pod." He answered, gesturing to Superboy who was staring at him.

"I see. Thank you. I believe now would be a good time to contact the league." Aqualad said as he tapped his buckle insignia which began to glow.

"Um guys. Come on!" Kid Flash said, already at exit with Superboy and Robin behind him.

The Atlantean turned to the blonde clone in a questioning manner. The clone nodded in agreement, before following along as they exited the building.

Superboy was especially eager as he walked outside, staring intently at the moon. "And that is the moon." Kid Flash quipped, putting his arm on Superboy's shoulder.

The other blond clone wasn't impressed nor was he disappointed. He'd seen the moon numerous times before he died so it wasn't something new to him.

A thought came to him at that moment. Though he was in a different body in a different universe, he was quite attached to his name. It was what he'd been called for as long as he remembered so he couldn't see himself answering anything else.

Despite his father being a military soldier, the man was quite obsessed with arts and poetry. That obsession influenced a lot of his decisions, one of which was the name he gave his son.

Dante, named after the famed poet and master of the literary arts.

Dante's attention was caught as he saw a figure flying towards them. The flying figure revealed himself to be Superman as he slowly descended.

"Oh and there's Superman. Man, we're good at keeping promises." Kid Flash joked as a look of slight amazement emerged on the super clone's face.

Four other figures trailed behind the man of steel, using their own methods of flight as they too descended.

'Superman, Red Tornado, Captain Marvel, Martian Manhunter and Zatara.' He counted as they turned to the side to see more League members descending from the sky.

Following the previous five, Captain Atom, Hawkman, Wonderwoman, Hawkwoman and the green lantern Dante recognized as Hal Jordan landed.

Right in front of the teens, another group landed. These were the members of the League whose powers didn't offer them flight and were carried in by the construct of another green lantern, John Stewart.

As Batman stepped forward to stand beside Superman, Flash sped into the scene. Dante couldn't help but notice the formation in which they landed.

They landed in a manner that surrounded them in all corners except they were planning on running back into the Cadmus building.

The tension in the air was palpable as Superboy walked forward to stand in front of Superman, puffing his chest a bit to showcase the House of El symbol they both carried on their clothes.

Superman's eyes widened in surprise as his eyes landed on the symbol, a hopeful look appearing on Superboy's face before disappearing as the man of steel frowned with narrowed eyes.

"Is that what I think it is?" Batman asked.

"He doesn't like to be called an it." Kid Flash said in a whisper that was loud enough for everyone to hear.

"I'm Superman's clone!" Superboy announced, getting looks of surprise all round.

While they held looks of shock, Dante lifted himself in the air as he slowly flew towards Black Canary who stood mostly behind them all.

He was aware of all the eyes watching him as well as how ready they were to act as he landed in front of the woman.

With Superboy's revelation along with Dante's blond hair and blue eyes, it wasn't hard for them to piece together what he was implying.

"Does that mean you're…" Black Canary trailed off as Dante nodded, briefly turning his head to face the Martian among the league before turning back to the woman.

Batman's voice cut through the silence. "Explain. Now."

A/N: I know that some people might want to complain that he ended the fight too quickly but logical, there was no way it would take longer than that.

Miss Martian severely underused telekinesis, wasting its power potential. Don't expect Dante to spend too long on fights that logically shouldn't take much time because of plot.
