Chapter 27

Something was wrong. Obviously more than the fact that they were soon to be on their way to fight a demon. The air was thick with tension.

They were both confused and annoyed. They were also not insulting each other.

The motel they had found was nicer than they had expected. It was painted an off white- almost light grey- and was two stories high. Angel and Jenarius spent a few minutes paying for two rooms. One for her and Javier and another for Jenarius and Harvey.

With the keys in Angel’s hand, they walked to their room on the top floor.

Jenarius liked top floors. He trusted them. It was easier to hide in case something went wrong. The only problem was that it was difficult to get to the car when shit went south.

Angel pushed open the white door to Jenarius’ room and he shuffled inside with the things they had purchased in his hands.
