When she opened the box, her face lit up. This is the secret that I had talked about. The secret that I went to prepare for. Well, I know that I should have been more considerate and brought her the ring earlier. But it's better late than never. I wanted to do something like a formal proposal but then I realized that it's still too early for that. So, I could only hand it to her like this.

"Oh, gosh!! Is this one for me?" her eyes sparkled.

"No, it's for my mother", I said teasing her.

"Oh, it's really pretty. I'm sure that it'll look really good on her", she said looking at the ring.

"Are you stupid? It's for you", I laughed softly.

"I'm not stupid and of course I know it's for me otherwise why would you show this to me? I was just playing along", she said with a smirk.

"Oh.... So, can I get the honour to put it on you?" I said as we made eye contact.

"Sure", she said with a smile as she put forth her left hand.

I was confused about what finger to put this ring on. Because it's not our engagement ring so I don't think that it's a good idea to put it on her ring finger. Also her fingers are really tiny and cute. Like a child.

"On the ring finger?" I asked to make sure.

"No, on the middle finger", she confirmed.

I put the ring on her middle finger. Well, not trying to brag but I myself designed this ring, cause I had to do it since it's for her. I wanted it to be special for her and I think the best way to do it is designing it myself rather than just picking a random ring from a shop. This ring looks like a flower bud. And of course, just like a natural flower bud, this one also blooms into a flower. I have hid the diamond inside the bud. It has sensory system in it. It bloom into a flower only when someone put it on. Well, not just anyone, but only her. This flower will bloom only when she wears it because it has her DNA inside it. This flower looks like an aster when it opens up. Why aster? Because it's the flower of her birth month, so, basically her flower.

"I'm sorry, my fingers are really tiny", she said giving an awkward smile.

"They indeed are really tiny", I said with a smile as I looked at her fingers which I was already in my hand.

"Yeah", she sounded halfhearted.

"But they are cute..Try making a fist", I said as the way to activate the ring was making a fist because then it'll be able to detect the DNA more properly.

"Woaw... It opens up", wonder filled her eyes.

"It's like a blooming flower, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's so pretty, it looks like a daisy. Thank you. So, is it the engagement ring?" she asked looking at the ring.

"No, the proposal ring. And it's aster actually", I clarified.

"Oh, but is there a thing like proposal ring?" she asked narrowing her eyes.

"Yeah, didn't you know?"

"I'm sorry it's my first time.... So, I'm oblivious about most of the things", she said with a grin.

"Same here. But I know my responsibilities",

cause I don't want to give her a chance to say that she missed something. I don't want her to have any regrets. So, she must get everything that all the other girls get.

"Great, at least one of us knows what we are doing", she smiled.

"Maybe I should go and say hi to Mr. Steve", she asked as she looked at me.

"Stay here, it's not time yet", I stopped her as I was going to take her there myself a while later.

Steve is the older brother I had talked about. If meeting family is important then I must introduce him with her as my family because he's the only guardian I've in this world.

She looked at me with an unreadable expression and a while later she just rolled her eyes and walked away towards Steve. Opps!! It sounded like an order and she already hates it when people tell her what to do and what not to. And here I sounded like ordering. So, of course she would show me the attitude. Anyways I followed her.

"Mr. Steve, funny to meet you here", she said but I could clearly see that she was getting cold feet. She didn't know what she was doing.

"It's not funny at all. We were supposed to meet to begin with, right Raidan?", Steve said giving me a look.

"Yes, we were just having a talk", I said with a frown, which I regreted by the way.

"De, so how's everything going?" Steve said intending to tease her as his identity as Professor.

"Great", she said.

"Stop Steve...!! Lam, remember I told you about my brother?"

"Yeah", she sounded unsure.

"That's him... Steve... My cousin brother and M's brother", I said looking at him.

"What?" she said under her breath looking at me making an unprepared face.

"Oh, nice to meet you", she said awkwardly.

"De, no need to be nervous. In this world I'm his only guardian, and I think you are perfect for him, so there's no worries, ok?" Steve said assuring Lam, seeing how nervous she is.

She gave a awkward and nervous smile. As if she was uncomfortable with the situation.

"Ok, so that's enough of conversation.... we need to head back. Will you be coming with us?" I asked Steve.

"Nah, I won't disturb you both. Anyways I am tired, I'll just go to my room and hit the sack", Steve said.

"Ok, we'll see you in the campus then. Good night".

"Good night Mr. Steve", Lam said as we were walking away.

"What did I say De?? Call me Steve like them. We will be family soon", Steve said to Lam.

"Yeah, I'm sorry. I'll keep it in mind", Lam said with an awkward smile.
