The truth

Ling Xu graduated from college three years ago and she still hasn't found a job yet. It's not like she can't find one, but she just can't find the right one. As Ling Xu always says, "Finding the right job is like finding your mr. right."

The gloomy sky, and traffic sounds awaken Ling Xu from her nap.

Her black oversized hoodie covers her up so well that she looks like a kid. Her hood is over her head, and she sat up straight from the bed.

Ling Xu checks the clock right on the night stand.

*6:33pm*

She has been taking her nap for four hours. She took a stretch, and drank the cup of water that she left before napping.

'Looks like it's gonna rain.' Ling Xu said inside her mind.

Ling Xu doesn't need to be making a living because her parents left her a huge amount of money. But she hasn't used any of the money that her parents left for her. Besides staying in the big house, and the only old maid that has been with them since Ling Xu was born.

So what money has she been using?

Ling Xu has a habit of saving money ever since she was a kid. So, of course she has her own money.

She wouldn't use any of the money that her parents left for her unless it's an emergency.

"Miss, it's dinner time," as the old maid whose name is Mei Yi, knocks on Ling Xu's room.

Ling Xu opens the door, and walks downstairs.

"Mei Yi, come and eat with me."

Even though Mei Yi only made 3 dishes of food, the huge dining table and amount of chairs makes Ling Xu feel very alone.

Mei Yi nodded, and went to grab another pair of chopsticks and a bowl.

"Mei Yi, I'm thinking of selling this place." Ling Xu saids as she picks up a broccoli.

Mei Yi looks at her, with worried eyes. "Miss, you're parents left this house for you and where will you go after?"

Ling Xu holds the bowl and chopsticks on her hand.

"This big house is only left with me and you… I'm thinking of selling this place and getting a smaller one."

Mei Yi didn't say anything. She knows that ever since Ling Xu's parents passed away four years ago, this house hasn't been alive for a very long time. Maybe Ling Xu is right. They need to be moved to another house that's smaller, and more warm.

One week later,

The house was successfully sold, and Ling Xu didn't have much belongings. She pushed out two luggages, and took one last look at the house.

"Let's go, Mei Yi."

They got into the taxi, and arrived in the city.

Ling Xu used a portion of the money from selling the old house, and brought an apartment.

Thinking that Mei Yi is old, and just in case the elevator is broken, Ling Xu brought the apartment on the third floor.

They open the door, and walk into the empty apartment. There's a total of three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and a small patio outside.

After a whole day of unpacking and moving things in, the apartment starts to be more warmer and alive.

"Miss-"

Ling Xu stops her. "Mei Yi, from now on don't call me Miss. It's now only me and you, plus I've always treated you as my family. Do you understand?" as she saids it like a kid while holding onto her arm.

"Xiao Xu?" as Mei Yi saids with a smile.

Ling Xu satisfially nods with a warm smile on her face.

After a normal dinner with Mei Yi, Ling Xu wore her usual black oversized hoodie, grey sweatpants, and converse.

"Mei Yi, don't wait for me to come back," as Ling Xu saids.

"Where are you going this late?" as Mei Yi asks with a worry look.

"Don't worry, I'll be back very soon." Ling Xu grabs her key and heads out.

It's early October, but it's starting to get cooler at night.

Ling Xu puts on her hood, and gets inside a taxi.

In ten minute, the taxi arrives outside a building. Ling Xu pays the taxi driver and walks out the car.

She stood in front of the building, and had a smirk on her face.

Ling Xu took the elevator to the 13th floor, and walked towards the room with lights on.

Inside the room, there's a man wearing a grey suit and hands pressing the mouse. He kept on pressing it like he's in a rush.

Ling Xu pressed something on her phone, and walked in.

"Ling-Ling Xu, why are you here?" as Zhang Xin saids with his lips shaking.

A smirk came across her face. "Why? I can't be here? Zhang Xin, did you forget? This is my father's office. Shouldn't I be asking why are you here?"

Ling Xu saids with her eyes right on him, and stares at him hard.

Zhang Xin suddenly starts laughing. "At this point, there's nothing to hide. You're right, this is your father's office. But do you know how your father treated me? I'm just getting what I deserve!" He saids with no regretment.

Ling Xu rolls her eyes, "getting what you deserve?" She then walked closer to Zhang Xin.

"I'm telling you, Zhang Xin. Don't think I'm stupid. The car crash four years ago, it was you. You're the one that caused my parents to die." Ling Xu saids it with her eyes starting to get red, and anger rising inside of her.

Zhang Xin starts to laugh harder.

"That's right. I ordered someone to crash your parents. So what? I just asked them for the things I deserved, but what did they do. They didn't even think and said no. I've been working for them for over ten years. And they won't even give me the things I want."

Ling Xu's fist tightens, as she looks at the devil right in front of her.

Shortly, the elevator opens and a group of police come running in.

Zhang Xin's face went pale, and stares at Ling Xu.

"Why!! Why does your whole family have to do this to me!" Zhang Xin screamed and then took the letter, and cut himself on the throat.

Ling Xu's eyes wide open. She didn't know this would happen, and she felt his blood splatters on her too.

Her hands start to shake, as she sees Zhang Xin's body on the floor with blood.

"Miss, are you okay?" Fu Heng walks up to Ling Xu who's still standing there in shock.

Ling Xu looked up with her hand still shaking, and saw a man standing in front of her.

Both of them looked at each other as if they haven't seen each other for so long.

Ling Xu doesn't understand why. Why does her eyes start to get watery right now? Why does she want to go up and hug this man?

"Bai Bing, bring her to the hospital," as Fu Heng calls to a female officer.
