&ldquo;I want to do it right this time. Last time with Jerry I was too scared to do it and it cost me…us…Jerry and me both.&rdquo;

Rick listened. It seemed as if Ed was more thinking out loud than talking to him.

&ldquo;I&rsquo;m still scared now, but this time it ain&rsquo;t gonna stop me,&rdquo; he continued as he sat up straight and turned to look at Rick.

Locking his eyes on Rick&rsquo;s, he said, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know if I&rsquo;m queer or not, but I know I loved Jerry and being with him…like this.&rdquo; He pointed to the bed behind them. &ldquo;Just being with him anywhere, anyway, doing whatever, made me happier than anything.&rdquo;
