Let's Go

Mike's body fell onto the hotel sofa after Ray's hard punch. Ray, not wanting the basketball athlete to hurt his lady, stood firm.

"How dare you?" Mike groaned, rubbing the red cheek caused by Ray's punch.

"Oh my God!" Maya was stunned to see the tall, muscular Mike fall due to a punch from her physically smaller driver.

"Don't hurt her! If you dare hurt her again after all you've done, I'll hit you even harder!" Ray threatened with a severe face.

"Do you know who I am? How dare you hit me!" Mike hurriedly got up from the sofa and stared at Ray defiantly.

"Who are you?" Ray began to feel uneasy, realizing who he had hit.

"Have you forgotten who I am?"

"No! I know you're a crazy rich guy. But does that mean you can hurt women because of your title?"

"Damn! He's right again," Mike regretted, closing his eyes as a sign of remorse for what he had done to Maya.

"If you can't protect Maya, I won't let you hurt her. You hear me!" Ray grabbed Maya's hand and gently pulled her. "Let's go."

"But!"

"Why stay here? These people don't appreciate you, May!"

"Ray," Maya whispered to her driver. "But what about our plan?"

"Forget it! I don't want him to hurt you again."

"What are you two talking about?" Mike asked, approaching Ray, who stood very close to his beloved.

"Mind your own business! This is between us!" Maya asserted, and Mike's initially arrogant face instantly softened toward Maya's driver.

"Let's just run!"

"Why run? They're not chasing us!" Maya pointed out, and Ray chuckled, realizing the truth in her words.

"You're right! Let's just get out of here! I'm sick of these people!"

"Yes!" Maya replied, glaring at Miya and Mike, who stood silently watching Ray hold his lady's hand. "You're right!"

"Mike, why are you letting them go?" Miya asked Mike angrily, who made no effort to stop her sister.

"Let them go, I don't want any trouble with him."

"Trouble? What do you know about their plan?"

"It's not a plan; I think I know who that young man is."

Miya furrowed her brow, trying to understand what Mike was saying. "What do you know about him?"

"I'll tell you in the room. I'm sure he's not just any young man."

"Oh! Is that why you didn't stop them?"

Mike nodded and then led Miya away from the luxurious hotel lobby.

While Mike and Miya headed to their room, Maya and Ray quickly left the hotel in downtown Surabaya and headed back to Malang.

As the night grew late, they were halfway through their journey. Maya, feeling hungry, started rubbing her stomach, hoping they would find an open restaurant.

Seeing Maya's hand constantly rubbing her stomach, Ray signaled left and headed to a KFC restaurant that was still open in downtown Pasuruan.

"Where are you going?" Maya whispered, turning to Ray.

"You're hungry, right? Why didn't you say so?"

"Ugh, I was just rubbing my stomach."

"Come on, let's eat. Besides, you probably haven't eaten since you went to Surabaya, right?"

"But!" Maya gently held back Ray's hand and smiled sheepishly. "I didn't bring any money."

"Oh! Don't worry about that. I got some money for the fare from your mother. I think it's enough for both of us to eat!"

"Really?" Maya smiled widely and got out of the car to follow Ray's confident steps to the cashier.

"Good evening, what would you like to order?" asked a female cashier in the restaurant's typical red uniform.

"Two crispy fried chicken meals with ice cream," Ray said in his deep voice.

"Anything else?"

"Just those for now."

"Would you like the chicken breast or thigh?"

"Breast, please."

"That will be one hundred thousand rupiah."

Maya watched Ray's confident movements as he took out his wallet and handed over a hundred-thousand-rupiah note to pay for their order.

The sweet girl kept watching Ray's hands as he held his thick wallet, wondering what was inside.

"What are you looking at?" Ray asked gently.

"What do you have in your wallet? It's so thick!"

Ray chuckled at Maya's innocent yet valid question. He then opened his wallet in front of Maya's eyes so she wouldn't be curious.

"It's got my driver's license, vehicle registration, a photo of my mom, cash, toll cards, a mini-mart discount card, a few gas receipts, and an ATM card in case I run out of money on the road."

"Oh! Quite a lot," Maya giggled, appreciating her driver's honesty.

"Yeah, I'm a driver for a rich kid. So I have to have everything I need to avoid trouble on the road."

"Here are your orders," the cashier said, serving two large pieces of chicken and two large colas, which Maya quickly grabbed.

"Let's sit over there," Maya pointed, stepping ahead of Ray, placing the tray on the table, and then heading to the sink without waiting for Ray.

The pretty girl's eyes sparkled at the sight of her favorite fried chicken, and she immediately started eating after finding a comfortable spot.

"Let's eat!" Maya urged, tearing the chicken apart before devouring it.

"Eat up; I'll wash my hands first."

Ray stood up and walked to the sink where Maya had washed her hands earlier.

As the handsome driver returned to the table, a tall figure blocked his way and started a long conversation while standing.

"Who is that?" Maya asked, more interested in her food than in Ray, who seemed very serious talking to the stranger she had never seen before.

After a long conversation, Ray finally returned to the table to start his meal.

"Who was that?" Maya asked, her mouth full of food.

"He's a spy keeping an eye on Miya."

"Huh! So someone's watching my sister too?"

"Of course! If someone is assigned to protect you, someone must be assigned to watch Miya too!"

"What did he say?" Maya's curiosity grew.

"He said Miya isn't really pregnant. She's just pretending to be pregnant to make Mike marry her."

"Why would my sister lie?" Maya frowned.

"Enough! Enough! Just eat. I'm hungry too. We'll talk about this after we're done, okay?"

Maya nodded quickly and continued eating.

With all the problems she faced, the sweet girl was no longer surprised by the scandalous news about her family, including Miya, who seemed stranger by the day.

After finishing their meal, Ray was busy with his phone while Maya, needing to use the bathroom, excused herself.

"Just a moment," Maya pointed towards the restroom.

"Okay," Ray replied shortly, then went back to checking his phone.

Maya walked to the restroom, which happened to be very quiet. She entered one of the stalls.

Click!

She locked the door and immediately sat on the toilet.

"Ah! What a relief!"

"So, what's our plan next?" she overheard two women entering the restroom and talking earnestly.

"We need to sabotage the car the Winata girl is traveling in so they never reach Malang!" another voice responded loudly, making Maya freeze.

"You're right!"

"Damn! What's this now?"
