The last straw

As Kumi was crying and I was on top of her I asked her again

"Why? Why…why would you try to do such a thing? Why would you go that far? Kumi, please! Tell me what's going on? Please Kumi, I can't stand it anymore"

Kumi kept on crying, and wiping her tears away every few minutes. After she'd calmed herself down she told me.

"When are you planning on getting off me or do you actually want to do it?" she said with a really flustered face while her eyes were swelling from all the crying.

I realized something when she said that, and Immediately got off of her. I got down and sat on the floor and asked her to put her clothes back on. After everything was settled I start asking her again

"So why did you decide you want to do such a thing?" I said with a really worrying face.

She looked away for a second, as I continued on repeating the same question. she turn back with a really scared eyes and she asked

"If I were to tell you, would you promise that you won't leave me?" She asked with a really worried face that I'm going to leave her after whatever she is about to ask me.

I took a moment to think what could possibly happen, as I could not think of a single reason why I would leave her.

"Yes! I promise no matter what it is, I will help you get through it no matter what."

She stuttered to say her problem, tears started coming out of her eyes again. I know it is something that is difficult for her to deal with. I helped wipe her tears away, and continued comforting her, telling her no matter what it is, I will always accept her.

"Remember back at the university?."

"Mhmm"

"Well after I waited for you to go to sleep I went back with the group and explored the lab. Something really caught my attention and I stayed there spectating it for a while until one of the interns there came up to me and asked me "are you interested in this?" I replied to him "yes I really do, can you tell me more about it". While he was explaining for half an hour, we both got really thirsty so he asked me to get a drink with him and said it was his treat. At first I did want to decline but it would be rude, so I went with him after he brought the drink. The moment I drinked it I forget everything."

"Do you mean he drugged you?"

"...Yes…h-he drugged me."

I start panicking and start feeling scared again.

"What did he do while you were passing out?"

She handed me her phone and showed me a video. The moment I saw it my eye stayed the same but every single cell in my body was telling me TO FUCKING KILL HIM. the video was Kumi was sleeping on his shoulder as he was about to harass her body and take some pictures and the video stopped there, I asked her what happened next.

"The girl that was recording told me that she reported about the guy to the manager, then she picked me back up to the bus and find something that help me get back to my senses"

As Kumi keeps on explaining what happened. I couldn't hear her for some reason but there was a voice in my head telling me how pathetic I am and because I was sick and resting, my girl almost got her life ruined by some random stranger. The voice kept on blaming me again and again and again I was lost everything became blurry. But Kumi touched my face and got me back to my senses.

"I was so scared that I thought that my body was going to be used by someone else before you, so I tried to seduce you. I was really scared. I was really scared"

Kumi kept on saying how scared she was repeatedly as if she was going insane. I hugged her and started apologizing for not being there to save her. I told her that I promised that from today forward I will never let such a thing happen to her ever again, and promise to always be there to protect her.

We both started crying and crying. I was hugging her trying to not go to that point again. After we calmed ourselves down, I asked her to not speak of this to anyone and let's pretend it never happened because from today onward nothing mattered to me anymore because now "you're my top priority" .I told her again how much I love her, she started doing the same thing. After that the mood got silent and awkward. We both looked at each other eye to eye as our faces started getting closer and closer. We kissed. We finally got to share our first kiss. After that, things went back to normal but it wasn't for me. After knowing what happened I seem to have a voice in my head filled with anger and hatred keep on telling me to not let that slide.

I pulled out my phone and texted someone.
