Amari stormed out of the party crying uncontrollably. Unable to contain her emotions she rudely pushed people out of her way.

Mrs. Kim caught up to her and said sympathetically " Sweetheart, let me take you home. It's not safe for you to drive in this condition. Mr. Kim will follow behind me. Okay?"

Trying to stop her tears and put on a brave face Amari answered " No, no you still have guest. I can't take you away from them. No. I'm okay to drive."

" I insist. Don't turn me down. You're in too much pain to drive by yourself. Dennis, follow behind me while I drive her home."

" Okay. Let me tell Mr. Yoshi and Mr. Lee that we're leaving." Mr. Kim replied.

" Okay, we will be waiting for you in the parking garage." Mrs. Kim said

" Okay. I'll be there soon." Mr. replied as he turned to walk back into the building.

A few moments later Dontae ran out looking for Amari. She wasn't out near the street so he ran towards the parking garage.

As Amari and Mrs. Kim were getting into her car Dontae ran up to them at high speed panting. " Wait Amari. Please don't leave without talking to me. i didn't mean to hurt you. I really thought that she was you. I love you to death. I wouldn't do anything like that on purpose. Please dont leave me? Please? He cried.

Mrs. Kim looked annoyed and tired. She looked at her son and yelled " Dontae, you've done enough for one night. Go to your car and go home. Now."

Trying not yell back at his mother, Dontae subsided his anger and said calmly " Mom, please let me talk to Amari alone? Let me take her home? Mari, please forgive me? Let me take you home? Let's talk about this, please?"

Mr. Kim walked up to hear Dontae and his plea. He was so angry with his son he couldn't control himself from slapping him. He said angrily " Dontae that enough. Do you know what you did tonight? Do you know what that made our family look like? Do you know what that type of behavior can do to our company? Our Shareholders can pull out of our company and then where will we be? Take you ass home and we will talk about this tomorrow."

While holding his face Dontae yelled at his parents " No. I don't want to talk to you. I just want to talk to Amari." He walked around the car and grabbed her hand and said " Amari, please let's go somewhere and talk. I promise Inwill never do that again. Please, just talk to me?"

Amari looked at him without any emotion in her face and said " No. I don't want to talk. I'm done talking. Dontae, I said the wedding is off and I don't want to see you again." She pulled her hand away, got into the car and closed the door.

Mrs. Kim got into the car and started. she yelled out to Dontae " Get away from the car before I run you over with it. I'm your mother and I will do it."

Dontae backed away from the car and called out to Amari, but was ignored as Mrs. drove off.

Mr. Kim got into his car and yelled at Dontae also " Go home now." before he drove off.

Inu walked out with the help of her secretary. She was beat up and looked terrible. Both of her eyes were closed shut. Her lips were brused and swollen. She had knots on the top and back or her head. Her nose and jaw were broken. She had bruises all over her arms and legs and she walked with a limp.

Her secretary informed her that Dontae was ahead. In untold her secretary to direct her in his direction.

Hoping and limping towards him she shouted out " Boyfriend! Boyfriend!" She finally reached him and grabbed hold of his arm. " Boyfriend, take me to the hospital." She cried.

Dontae jerked away from her and she fell to the ground. He looked at her angrily and yelled " I'm not your f***ing boyfriend. Stay away from me before I catch a case with your stupid ass. I don't like you. i hate you and i dont want to be around you." He turned to walk back into the building to gather his things.

Inu was left in the parking garage bruised and hurt inside and out. ' This isn't over Dontae. You're going to take responsibility to what you've done to me tonight.' She thought to herself.

The next day Dontae was blowing up Amari's phone early with calls and texts she wouldn't answer. He even came over, but was chased away by her dad.

" You're not welcomed here. Stay away from my daughter." Mr. Valdespee yelled as he punched Dontae repeatedly. Mrs. Valdespee and Amari's brothers had to stop him before he killed Dontae.

" Dontae, get away from our home. the next time you come we will not stop him from killing you." Philip said.

Dontae beat up and miserable, felt hopeless. How could he prove that Amari was the only girl he wanted.

Forntwonweeks he sent flowers everyday to her job and she sent them back everytime. He tried to pretend he was sick for a few days, so he went to the E.R. everyday just tonsee her. She always asked another doctor to take her place and take care of him. He even tried picking her up from work fornanweek, but she either left early or his until he left.

He was starting to feel defeated, but he wouldn't give up just yet. So he called her up to suggest they go to therapy, but she changes her number. ' How can I get in touch with her now?' He thought ' Mom! Mom might have her new number!' He continued with his thoughts.

" Mom, Amari changed her number. Do you have it?" He asked hurriedly.

" Dontae, Amari moved to California last Saturday. She wanted me to tell you that she forgives you, but you two just can't be together. She said although you were sincere with your apologies, she can't trust you. She will always love you, but she has to be alone. She want you to be happy and move on." Mrs. Kim told her son over the phone.

Dontae started to cry. His heart was broken and couldn't get over the thought that Amari left him without saying goodbye.

" Mom, are you serious? She left without saying goodbye? She left me? Mom, she left me. I can't get her back. Mom, where is she? I got to find her. Mom, please help me find her? Mom, why? Mom, why? Why? He cried uncontrollably over the phone.

" Where are you? I'll have your dad come and pick you up. You can stay here for the night or until you feel better." His mom asked worriedly.

" Mom, what do I do now? She was supposed to be my wife. We were supposed to get married last month. Mom, I didn't mean to hurt her. It was never my intention." He continued to cry.

" I know and she knows too. It's just she kept warning you about Inu and you never listened to her. You always defended Inu. Stop crying. She wouldn't want you to be hurt and crying. Tell me where you are?"

' Please, dont speak that name mom. I hate her. She ruined my relationship. Please dont ever speak that name again." He sobbed.

" Dontae, where are you? Just tell your mom so that we can come and get you?"

" I'm in the parking lot at Florida Hospital."

" Stay there. Your dad will come and get you. Dont get out of the car." Mrs. Kim said worried.

He hung up the phone and waited for his dad to come and pick him up.

While crying never ending tears, Dontae looked out of the window and saw two women walking across the parking garage laughing and one looked like Amari.

He was shocked and happy. He for out of the car in a hurry to stop her. " AMARI!" He yelled " AMARI!" he yelled again. He ran as quick as he could and caught up to the women. He hugged the lady and gave her a kiss. " Amari! I thought you left me for good. I'm so happy to see you. Please don't leave me? I promise I won't ever cheat again. Just don't leave me, please?" He cried.

Shocked and scared the lady was struggling to get out of his arms. She started screaming for help while her friend called the cops.

Once Mr. Kim arrived he saw the police putting Dontae in the back of a squad car.

" Officer, that's my son. May I ask what he did to get arrested? Mr. Kim asked.

" He's being charged with sexual assault. The young lady over there in the blue top said he ran up to her and began hugging and kissing her saying 'Amari, please don't leave me.' You can talk to her and ask if she can drop the charge. But as of now, we have to take him in and book him." The officer said.

" Well, how much is bail?"

" You'll learn that once he sees a judge."

Mr. Kim sighed long. " Thank you officer."

" You're welcome. You can pick him up at the thirty-third precinct. That's where he will be booked."

" Okay, thanks!" He looked at Dontae thought the window and shook his head. Irritated by the situation he called up Mrs. Kim.

" Jasmine, your son is going to jail. Meet me at the thirty-third precinct."

" WHAT?" Mrs. Kim yelled over the phone. Mr. Kim had to take his ear away from the phone because she was very loud. " What did he do?" She asked angrily.

" He sexual assaulted a female he thought was Amari. What's wrong with your child? Why is he like this?"

" No, he's your child. You're the one who spoiled him."

" I didn't spoil him. I gave him fatherly love." He said with pride.

" And now he's in jail." She said mockingly.

" Just meet me at the precinct." Mr. Kim yelled.

At the precinct Dontae looked pitiful. There was no life in his eyes. He was an empty shell of himself.

His mouth was parted as he stared at the wall in the as he layed on a bench in the center of the cell.

He had no thoughts running through his mind. It was if he was braindead.

Foot steps could be heard coming towards the cell, but that didnt knock him out of his daze. Even his name being called couldn't get him back to reality. The cops had to come into the cell and walk him into the area his parents were waiting.

" Sir, ma'am, I think your son need psychological help. He's not responding to his name being called. He didn't drink the water or eat the food that were offered." The officer said.

" My son is not one of these people out here in the streets with problems. He doesn't have this delusional issue you see. Mrs. Kim argued.

" Whatever, get him help. Take him home and have a good evening." The cop replied.

They walked out of the precinct with a mentally unstable Dontae.

If only his soul wasn't taken away. He'd still be the same Dontae. Things have changed now that Amari is gone.
