Angeline Came Back
Jacob's widened eyes twinkled. Their eyes locked together for a long time.
His heart was pounding as he stared at her eyes' seemingly shining blue crystal. Then he slowly lifted his head as his eyes focused on Angeline's unblinking eyes. And he was startled and lost his balance falling to the floor when he saw his wife's hair was almost indistinguishable from the color of transparent nylon. And he was even more stunned when Angeline got up without even raising her hands to get up. She was like a corpse rising.
He shook his head and closed his eyes tightly. When he opened his eyes, the smooth legs of his wife appeared in front of him, still on the floor.
From the smooth legs, he stared at the hand she offered. Jacob looked up, and his eyes connected with his wife. Then he reached Angeline's hand, waiting for him to accept it.
