10 Chapter 9

Li Qi Ye swept up the yard, with a broom. His adobe was pretty old and messy, covered in dust, spiderwebs, and the roof of his house was rotting.

He had already heard of Yun Xie's growing fame. He knew for a fact that Yun Xie was definitely a mortal. Well, it was not impossible, but pretty rare. A man who can simply wield and manipulate flames as if they were one.

He is not one of the Fire Tribe…. So just what is he? Li Qi Ye had awakened a few sealed memories as soon as he saw the billowing flame rise up from the ground.

Yun Xie's demeanor and such were all pretty weird. Though he wielded such impressive power with ease, in front of usually pretty normal things, he acted in awe.

Li Qi Ye's mind soon drifted to other things.

A few minutes later...

Yun Xie sped through the air towards Lonely Peak, giant flames trailing behind him.

*BOOM!* He landed in the courtyard, his arms and feet still smoking.

"Whoops…." Yun Xie stomped a few flames that had singed the grass of the courtyard

"What brings you here again…?" Li Qi Ye looked at Yun Xie, who was once again sitting on the broken pillar.

"Nothing much…. You just seem like a guy who has many a tale to tell…." Yun Xie sat down, taking out a glass of apple cider and offering it to Li Qi Ye. 'Also, leeching off the main character is fun….'

Li Qi Ye took it and looked into the contents.

"Don't worry, it isn't poison or something unless you are allergic to apples….." Yun Xie took out a bottle of cola.

Li Qi Ye was curious, taking a sip, he was greeted with a fizzy sweet sensation that was actually quite nice.

"Non-alcoholic. Don't give wine to minors…" Yun Xie took a sip from his Cola. The Creation quirk was a lot handier than he had anticipated…

Li Qi Ye was even more intrigued by Yun Xie, well intrigued by his origins.

"Can you tell me a story?" Yun Xie enjoyed listening to the tall tales told by bards and such at different restaurants, and Li Qi Ye, being as old as he was, probably had many.

Yun Xie took another bottle of cider out of his "Gates of Babylon", which Li Qi Ye looked at strangely.

"A bottle for two stories?" Yun Xie smiled, taking out a few croquettes to…

Li Qi Ye caught the bottle and began to speak. "Long Ago, back at the start of the Emperor's Era, in a small village, lived a young child named Min Ren..."

He talked on until it was almost sunset, quite the enrapturing tales indeed. Li Qi Ye spoke of many people, of Immortal Emperor Min Ren, Stone Medicine World, and the Burial Grounds.

Li Qi Ye really was quite the teller of tales. Unlike some people, he did not overexaggerate stuff, as he did not have to. Also, he may have gotten a little too into it and told more than five stories…..

"Quite the turbulent times, back then, eh…?" Yun Xie laughed a little, eating some piping hot pot roast.

Li Qi Ye knew this guy really was just here out of self-interest and curiosity. The guy asked many...…. Peculiar questions.

He asked why Stone Medicine World had Stone in the name, and if all the buildings on the Buddhist Plateau looked like temples….

Quite the strange guy… At first glance, he seemed pretty dull-witted...

Yun Xie also seemed to have a pretty big stomach, eating quite the assortment of things throughout the afternoon and evening.

"Tell me, what do you think is the most important thing a cultivator should have?" Li QI Ye spoke a question he had asked many, many other people.

"Well, besides power, I'd say...…. Logic." Yun Xie looked up wistfully into the night sky. "Though I can't be said to be the smartest person on the block, having good enough logic can really help a person. Can't really explain how."

Li Qi Ye paused for a moment. They always said strength, or power, or talent. This was quite the first.

Instead of going on about his normal routine of saying "Dao Heart" and whatnot, Li Qi Ye decided to stay quiet.

"Anyway, wanna hear a story of my own?" Yun Xie watched as a shooting star shot by.

"Please." Li Qi ye smiled a little. Usually, he was the one telling stories after all, and not the other way round.

"Not so long ago….. In Foosha Village, a settlement with a lot of windmills in the East Blue...There lived two brothers, their names were Monkey D. Luffy and Ace D. Portgas..." Yun Xie knew the plot of One Piece by heart, and spreading culture was usually a pretty fun thing to do...
